Ok not to be the grammer king or the pissser in the fan, but could I suggest to everyone that if
you initiate a new posting can you make your subject line SPECIFIC to what you are posting about? to pull up a posting that says "wow, thats cool" then to open it and its a posting about someones kick stand plate is a huge time waster if you arent interested in the subject matter A better subject line would have been "Check out my new kick stand plate"
Then we all know the subject and can decide if we want to open the posting.
And I will also put myself in that catagory because I know I have done it a time or two.
thanks guys and gals

I must agree. What gets me is I keep forgetting the name of a post I'm not interested in, and I open it again, and again simply because he title doesn't fit the subject matter. Duh!

I knew I shouldn't have opened this post. Turned out to be a waste of time. Another 2 seconds down the drain.

WOW!!!! I have never felt that anything I ever read was a waste of time. But then again I guess I don't think I already know everything worth knowing. Some posts were more interesting then others, but everything I ever read I learned from just like I learned something from your post. Did we all not learn what we know from reading?

Sorry if I ever wasted any of your time. Pisser in the fan? Sounds appropriate.

Let me be clear...........I'M NOT TAKING SIDES

But....I kinda I think there may be a subtle suggestion to Varyder here.

Examples::

"Who knows" by Varyder http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3744&posts=2&start=1 a post regarding adapting Kuryakyn pegs.

"Hopin.." by Varyder http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3743&posts=1&start=1 a post about headiing to Virginia beach and 4th plans.

These referenced threads are just from past couple days. Both thread titles have nothing regarding the content. And there are many more similar thread titles and content by many others, maybe even including myself.

Vague titles don't bother me at all, defintely not enough to make a thread regarding them. But I can understand how someone can be bothered by them, even enough to make a thread regarding them. I mean if I see a thread title of "which oil" I'm probably not going to bother opening it. But if I see a thread title that says "stopped at dealer" and I open it and its about which oil to use or something along these lines. Well...I gotta admit that I'm going to be a teeny bit frustrated, but I move on though.

Some people place different values on thier time/effort than others place on thiers.

This is one of those "two sides to every coin" type issues.

p.s. Varyder, please don't think I be picking on ya Hey...maybe Jeff could change your rank from Visionary to Pissionary?

p.s.s Do they have a Fourth Of July in England???

I tend to click the "Latest Articles" link, and I'll start reading something and get called away. Finding my way back to that article can be a serious chore if I don't know the topic that was used. Search is useful at this point, but really... titles make things a lot easier...

So my only real comment on this is to those that do think up and use descriptive titles.... THANKS!!!!

My posting was not directed toward anyone in particular at all, in fact i self incriminated myself in it. Does it wreck my day NO,
was it just a suggestion for comment yeah, thats all. No one should be offended by it or feel guilty. Its sort of like internet headline news teasers " Woman has two heads" only to open the article and the story is she bought two heads of lettuce.

And message to "Squeak", sorry if i inadvertantly wasted two of your seconds buddy.

Vague Subject Lines

I never click on them!
I read several boards and if the post is impotent to the poster, he'll at least make the subject line sound like he's more then some 14 year old Valley Girl text messaging another 14 year old Valley Girl.
