Has anyone who rides 2 up a lot, given any idea as to why Victory chose to put that little raised area at the rear of the passenger seat ? It's not for the lower lumbar. With myself and my honey on the back, she sometimes says that she slides forward on her seat. We never have experienced that ,to this extent, on any other bike, outside of braking hard. Now that I put the Utopia backrest on, that might be a problem ? Do you think an upholsterer/leather refinisher, can slice that raised area off to make it flat. I think just that little area being flat would make a world of difference.
Think about it, you don't see any other seats, raised like that. It pushes you forward, seeming like you are cramped, back there, because the actual distance from the passenger backrest to where
the seat begins for the driver is within an inch in length with the GW and other big bikes. The room is there, but that design is not helping.

I am going to have to go look to see what you are writing about. I do know that I cannot clean the Kawasaki's passenger seat. I did once, and made it shiney black. Everytime I barely hit the brakes, the wife slid into me. She was almost mad about the situation. LOL It was a 4 plus hour trip to Myrtle Beach.

My girl is tall...well...relatively speaking. She is 5'8" and has NO problem with the Utopia being there. She loves it because she has a place to put things when she is done holding them...such as phone, gloves...etc.

As for the raised portion...you are not the only one to express this issue. Be VERY careful that whoever does the work does NOT screw up teh heating elements. I hear it is very easy to do. But any good seat guy can do it. shop around for reputable guys though.

Just go to Walmart and buy some Velcro, lmao.....
Seriously though the problem isn't that little ducktail. The bike trunk pad leans back ever so slightly which puts the passenger in the slide position from the start. Have the Mrs try a pillow behind her upper back to sit her more upright and I bet it solves the problem. I considered making a modification to the backrest initially but my Mrs got use to it. The rear seat will eventually pocket so she doesn't slide if you use a pillow for a while (or she just sits up). Hope this helps..

Let me know if you get this done. The female unit is having a lot of difficulty with this. Not just the sliding but the angle ths tilt puts on her back gives her a back pain issue. She aint happy.

The wife unit uses a small pillow behind her back, as it hurts on rides over a half hour. As long as she has her pillow, she's happy. A happy wife is a happy life!

Had local upholsterer slice the raised part of the seat off.

Looks fine and Herself is happy.

If you check the Ness seats they don't have that ridge.
