| Had a nice ride on Sunday with the Ventura Chapter of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club. 29 bikes showed up (2 Visions). We started in Moorpark, took back roads through Santa Paula, Ojai and up to Santa Barbara for lunch at the beach. We went through mountains, valleys, twisties, orchards, and by a lake and the ocean. On the way back, we stopped for some Foster's Freeze and then onto the bike stores for toy shopping. It was a really pretty day and couldn't beat the weather or the company.

Posts: 20 Oregon | I haven't been able to ride for the last two weeks due to weather. We are supposed to be getting a bout of warmer and dryer weather Wednesday-Sunday. Hopefully we will be able to get out on the road a little. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I ride everyday to work also, no pics, no lights except 2. 16 mile ride up I-295. Nice ride with subtle curves. I like listening to the truckers on the CB talked to one another say "Did you see that?" What kind a motorcycle is that?, Harley?", "I think it's one of those Japanese bikes." and on and on. Anyway, it gets noticed. We're moving our work location and my ride will be about 40 miles daily, some on some good twisties. You know you got it bad that you look forward to going to work everyday just for the ride, but even more so on the ride home, because I take the long way. |

Posts: 904 29 Palms California | I agree, I love my job more now due to the distnace I get to ride. Most of my ride is straight, and I save the weekends for twisties. |

Posts: 266 Stockton, Ca. | The latest putt was a short ride around the San Joaquin Delta in Nortrhern Ca. It provides some nice twisty river roads great wildlife and no real traffic to speak of. It was a crisp 42 degrees clear and sunny. The rivers are full from the recent rains causing a couple of draw bridge delays but after that the ride was great. I usually like to flog it a bit when the timing is right and topped at 110 before backing off. Speaking of timing just then a CHP rounded the bend up ahead and hit me with his Lazer, Damn it if he didn't catch me going 67 miles per hour!
He U turned and flipped on his flashers so I pulled over and waited for him. After receiving a warning for going 67 we spent another 15 minutes going over the bike. He was quite impressed. Earlier that day I was passed by 2 Local PD motors on HDs and as they passed both gave a thumbs up sign. It seems this bike is a hit with everyone.
As for the rest of the ride, well... it was a slow ride home, no faster than 55. Sorry no pics... |
