Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | There is quite a lot of us that have the Utopia backrest. For me it is the one thing that completed my Vision...even better than the cams. Its adjustable while riding, and when you readjust it its like being on a different bike. You wont regret it.

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | I know this will "once again, make me unpopular", but hey, the guy asked. My personal opinion is that the Utopia backrest while
comfortable blah blah blah visually doesnt really suite the style and aesthetics of the Vision. Esp for those of us who have the Street Premium and dont have the back trunk. We have the passenger nice thick curved backrest and the Utopia doesnt even come close to matching it in quality and form. I have been pressing the question which no one can seem to answer so far, which is, in the new 2010
accessory list they show a # 2877809 Driver Backrest Mount '08-10 which to me means that they offer a new removeable backrest
which can be added to all stock seats from 08 through 2010. Otherwise it would mean that the seat for 2010 has been redesigned to support this driver backrest.. which would make no sense. So im hoping someone at Polaris/Victory can actually explain the item.
(This was the reason for my call to Polaris, which got me ZERO help from their customer service department. The girl knew nothing of her own products and referred me back to my dealer....... who didnt know and referred me TO THEM. So as usual NO HELP.
If the new driver backrest and backrest mount indeed fits an08 model (as it states), then that would look much better then the Utopia as it would be curved and look like the existing backrest on the Vision if you ordered the whole new seat with both backrests......

Posts: 447 Northeastern Penna. | I have the utopia backrest with quick disconnect, have rode with it several times. I believe it was brought up here in another post, that the backrest gives you support, pretty far up your back. We
all have different comfort levels. To me, that support goes up a little too far, however, I feel that the utopia backrest is good, but maybe the stock backrest, that comes with the 2010 Vision is
better because it was designed for the vision seat more so than utopia, who knows ? Does anyone see this point I'm trying to bring across ?

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | I have had the Utopia since mid June and I ride with it every day. I really have gotten used to it and it has improved my posture. Mine is removable.
Here is the Video of my installation.

Posts: 102 Madison, AL | I have had the Utopia backrest for over a year now. When I first got it I had to flip the insides of the back rest for it to fit my back. I'm short at 5'7" so taller riders might not need to make the adjustment. I agree that it doesn't look right on the street setup but the backrest is removable. I have had several riders on the back and all were able to fit into the backseat with the Utopia installed. They only needed the spacer blocks for the foot rest. I have the tour and the backrest looks fine on it. The fit and finish matches the bike and most are surprised when I tell them it is not OEM but aftermarket. While everyone has their own opinion, mine is that I love the backrest and have only taken it off once. For me it was one of the better purchases/upgrades I made on this bike. |

Oh yes.....That is why some of us took our Utopia pan out, and modified it...I hated how it was hitting me so high up my back....I had the original pan where the pan was the top and just foam at the bottom. I took it out, flipped the pan, cut an inch of foam off the top (which was the bottom) and reinstalled. Now the support is at the bottom and the top of the backrest gives...Fits me excellent now. I also dropped the whole assembly down to the lowest holes....Wouldn't want to ride without it. |
