Posts: 332 Dale, Indiana | Dealer downloaded the latest radio update into my bike yesterday.
Intercom is louder and I can now hear the CB radio.
Sound in my helmet speakers in more crisper and I like that.
Never will I figure out why my radio that was working ok when it was replaced 14 months ago decided to turn down the intercom and CB radio on the front plug. But, if I plugged it into the rear plug (passenger) it would blow my helmet off my head.
The volume on the CB and intercom was set wide open.
Was going down I-64 today cracking about 85mph average and I could hear the stereo fine and the truckers talking about me too!
Hope it keeps working like it is. Makes me happy it does!

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I just went out and checked and I still have version 4.13A. Will I notice any improvement if I have it updated? I use my iPhone most of the time and I am ready to rip the controls of the left handle bar. I does a real good job of raising by blood pressure when every time I try to advance a song is goes backwards or starts the same some over or skips ahead 10 songs. I know that isn't a software issue. I guess I should be happy that's by biggest gripe with my Vision. |

| Well my radio update is BAD but I figured as much. They did the 5.13A download and it did nothing for my problem, but I didn't expect it would. I've been riding for a week with no radio display but I did learn something EVERYONE should be aware of, ok I sorta new this but it is the first time it has become a player for me. The PolarisStar extended warranty is BREAKDOWN warranty coverage. So in the case of my radio it will be covered. However my headlite which has been replaced multiple time is NOT covered even though it has been replaced numerous times already, 2 months ago for the current one. I also suspect that the muffler tips which are bubbling up and flaking due to corrosion under the paint won't be covered either. The dealer is also checking on the gear indicator false reading to see if it will be covered.
So MY ADVICE to anyone who has a Vision or other Victory whose factory 1 year waranty will be expiring within the next month is to go over the bike with a fine tooth comb writing up a list of EVERY piddly little thing and get it fixed before the factory warranty expires. If you don't you'll either need to live with the issue or replace the parts out of your own pocket. |

My control did the same thing when changing songs. It was replaced under warranty, no muss no fuss. It took about a week to get the part in.
Teach,
I have the same concerns but so far a great dealer makes all of the difference. I was thinking about making my own water proof controls since it is a simple resistive network.

| RTeach, Victory actually has a NEW left handlebar control cube that replaces the first year ones that had issues with resistance bleed, if thats what you are talking about. Mine was replaced right after it became available (yep that was bad to, lol) and that part has worked perfectly since. I suspect they have one for the cruise control as well but I can't say as I've never had an issue with that. My radio has had problems since day one, hell the dealer ordered one a while back and Victory disapproved it for further troubleshooting and download stuff. None of it worked and now it is finally not displaying anything. So the new is on order.
Dealer does make a huge difference and for the life of me I can not explain why Victory appears to treat some dealers real well and others poorly. Don't get me wrong, some of my problems are the result of the dealer, but the vast majority are Victory. 2 oil sending units due to defective QC, 4 headlites due to bad QC, bad bar control bad QC, bad muffler end caps QC and the list goes on. Heck if you look here at how many folks had paint problems, belt problems, alignment problems, dimples in covers.... it says Victory is dropping the ball on Quality Control. The bad oil sending units are the result of improper stamping of the vent hole. This problem dates back to 2000 when Victory had a supplier who made this error. Why are these bad sending units still in their working stock? Bad QC.
As I've said MANY times, I love the bike..... but the little bugs can really piss one off if they drag on long enough. I've had several folks ask if I work at the dealership since I'm there so often, or employees for the dealership that say I should get paid for time there.
Oh well if I don't trade it on a Cross Country in October, I'll make some major changes to it over the winter |

| If you are still having probelems with your radio/stereo after all the known upgrades have your mech check the wiring harness on the left side above the the fuel tank. Chafing may occur along the the tank seam and cause "strange" things to happen. A chafed wire for the starter had caused the radio to be wacked till repaired. |
