Posts: 363 Goldsboro, NC | I went for a Zen ride on Saturday that turned into 250 miles. Got caught in rain 3 times, got caught in traffic on the outer particle accelerator around Raleigh, got lost twice and had two narrow misses with cagers.
I live in the boondocks outside Goldsboro, NC, a very rural area. As I was tooling down Vail road about a mile from my house, I started to feel like I had really survived an ordeal that day. Very quickly, the windblown cornstalks became legions of fans, welcoming home the victorious warrior. The leaves of the stalks became hands... waving and offering high-fives.
Like I said... this imagery was the dumbest damn thing that could have come into my brain, but it has been bothering me ever since (high five, high five, high five...) for its very stupidity.
I hoping that everybody illadvised enough to read this story will have the same thought while running by their local corn fields (high five, high five, high five...) and share in the community of the dumbest damn thing with me.
On the other hand, this might turn out to be a curse....

| I second the motion of dumbest things. I have a few myself!!! I will surely be looking at the corn fields differently now. Thanks |
