Posts: 50 hudson, IL United States | i wanted to know if anyone had just sanded off the clear coat on the brushed pieces and polished them. If so do you have pics. i think there is a clear coat on all of them i just havent had time to sand one and check. i work on semi trucks and we polish aluminum all the time so i just think it would look ok and cost a heck of a lot less them buying the other pieces.
thanks

Posts: 311 Atlanta Area | There is no clear coat on the brushed aluminum panels so your safe to just go for it... BUT, the pieces are rather large and trying to get an even looking polish on them is going to be super tough...
Good luck and post pictures! |

Posts: 460 Centennial, CO | I saw a polished FRAME on a Honda Hawk many years ago. I asked how it did it and he said, lots of work with steel wool. I am sure there are easier ways...but it came out looking damn close to chrome. As a matter of fact, I asked if it was chrome.
So, I know it can be done and I have even thought about doing this myself as well as the front disk rotors. I hear those come out beautiful! |
