Allen Park, MI | I know it has been discussed in numerous threads...and there are quite a bit of good comparisions, but if you had the ability to choose 1 which would it be? A Zumo 550, Zumo 650 or a Garmin 2820

| They are all good. I mounted the 2820 only because that was the only mount they sold and wanted to be sure it came out the speakers. |

Nebraska | Sticky Notes work good for me. Get the good 3M ones though. The cheap ones blow off. |

You can write??  I ride with a group that goes all over IL and Wisc. I don't like to pay attention to where I a going and because the ride ends at where ever, I just hit the home button and it tells me where to go!!! |

San Antonio, TX | I picked up a free folding paper map of Texas at a State Park outside of Bandera. Since I have to ride over 350 miles to make it to another state I will be good for a while.
I do not go to Mexico. Too much crazy crap going on down there.

| The 2820 has the same ability as the 660 correct? You can use your computer to build custom routes, choosing your own roads, and download it? |

| I use the TomTom Rider as it is a very simple GPS to use and very accurate. It's bluetooth and voice commands are pumped into my lid to a speaker in the ear pocket. In addition I can answer any incoming phone calls hands free through the gps. Hell I even removed the gps mound and just throw the TT in the trunk most of the time as it provides instructions just as well from there, lol. |

Allen Park, MI | Thanks for all the input...well almost all..LOL...but it looks like most peeps chose the 550...I am curious if it is because they have not had any experiance with the 660 or 2820??....and that is the unit they have mounted? I like the ability to create your own map and download it like with the 2820...but thanks again folks.

That's my normal GPS system too. I've always planned my routes with MS Streets & Maps and then printed out the directions and taped them to the dash.
Worked pretty darn good for me until last weekend. I had to go to Oklahoma for some family business. Over 1000 miles through five states one way. Got my route to and from all planned out and printed. Packed all my gear and hit the road at about 10 PM on Thursday. About the time I got to the Michigan-Indiana border I realized the fatal flaw in my great system: I can't read the friggin' directions in the dark!! Plus, they didn't help too much in Missouri where it seemed like every exit on I-44 wouldn't let you get back on the highway because the on-ramp was under construction.
For the first time ever I am now seriously considering a GPS system. |

| Other than the fact that you can't use the Victory factory mount or power through the Victory system, if there any reason not to pick up any well reviewed, refurb'd GPS and ram mount it on the right or left brake cylinder (on '09 and '10's)? Will vibration ruin them? |

VNWR....what mount did you use to mount your 550?? I can't tell by the photo??

I don't know how much riding you do in inclement weather, but from what I understand there are only a few GPS sets that are water-proof. If you don't care about water-proofing you're only limited by your imagination. |
