I recently purchased the a black '08 Vision from ebay. It is in the process
of being shipped to my door. (I can't wait to see it)

I would like to black it out a bit. Specifically the gray tank console, rear tip over protectors, and the passenger handles. I don't know what is metal or what is plastic. I've read that most of you are painting these items. I would prefer powerder coat over paint because of the durability and lower cost. Are any of these parts metal?

thanks,
Randy

first off congrats on yorr new ride. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Randy the grab rails are plastic, the tank console is easy lots of black consoles (metal) to purchase out there as well as speedo/tach covers (plastic). The rear tip overs can be powder coated.

Where do I find a black console already done?

I too was thinking of just doing this myself to my own parts. All of the parts except the grab rails and the silver dash are aluminum from what I understand. So, I should be able to powder coat them.

Cycle dragon has an exchange for the grab rails and rear valance (by the pipes) I believe it is $300 for all (with exchange). Nice. Looks great. I did it. You can by the dash from the factory (like $250..ouch) The rest will need painting. Cycledragon also does a cool hard anodizing of the panels (it is a flat black, looks like what the 8-ball will be) Ness is all gloss black, the pics of the 8-ball look like flat black panels.

I am told that powder coating is hard to do as those panels are a brushed aluminum on a plastic and have trouble with the heat involved in powder coating.

I went with gloss paint and love love love the look....
