Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | There has got to be a bunch of us out there, whatwith Arlen Ness selling a bunch out of Pleasanton. I have seen two other than mine in Santa Cruz, and they were passing through. It would be fun and interesting to meet with other local owners; most of us are willing to ride a couple of hundred miles for a cup of coffee, so let's get together. My alterior motive is to get three other Vision owners together with me to get Kevinx into the area for a cam party. |

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Well, Smadge, Cams are grown in Florida near the brown water rivers. They were first discovered by Yankees in 1862 when a starving Yankee soldier fell face first right onto a nice ripe one. Two days later, when he sobered up, he told his buddys about them, and the rest is history! |

While we are just BS ing: We parked next to a good old boy from Oklahoma for about three months in Texas. Your comment about travel 200 miles for a cup of joe is right .Anyway he and I rode a few times (he had a new HD)and bs'd a lot. He said one day he traveled 8 miles down the road because they had hamburger for .10 cents less than someone next door but pull in to a motorcycle shop and look at some chrome or something and ask what it costs;"Oh only $400.00 put it on there!!" We motorheads are a lot like fishermen. Bass boat, rods and reals, big outboard motors and go fishing four times a year if we're lucky.
Gotta love it !!!! |

Kevin doesn't bite, and has no nasty habits that I noticed. And he does a great job of making your Vision 'faster than a speeding bullet' or whatever Calf people think of as rapid. |

Posts: 125 Kerrville Texas ( now a homeowner on six acres) | What the heck is a "CALF" person????
BlueSky,
I installed the stage one level one some time ago and at a few "good " oportunityshad my vision up to 105 mph and all I could think about was my fat butt bouncing down the highway and how long it would take to heal my 64 year old body.
So, to answer your question, I guess I will leave it at its current level of power. I am all for guys doing whatever they want to thier bikes but i am completely happy with my power level.
However, that said, if I was ever close enouhg to see how all this works I would like to watch some of the process. I have never been a "gear head" so I am in awe of people who know how to do all thier own mechanical work.
My wife and I are traveling the country in an RV (motorhome) and towing the VISION in a trailer for our transportation when we Park.As of now we are up in Bangor Maine. We winter in Texas as that is where we now own any property.
As a sidelight, since we retired(Oct 2007) we have accumulated 16,000 miles on the motorhome and 20,900 on the VISION.
When we get to your area would like to link up and have you show us some local history. (Also your CAMS hehe)

| If the party was closer to Los Angeles I would be there... In fact, if the party was closer to Long Beach it would be at my house. I would like to see, hear, and ride a post-party bike. I am happy with the stock bike, but maybe I just don't know what I am missing..
If one happens in Southern CA I'll be there. By the way, how does the party work? 4 bikes in one day? Sleepover? What is the dealio? |

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Where you commin from Mr. Nice Guy? Can't you say what you have on your mind? I have already communicated with Kevinx about camming my bike. All I need is three other Vision owners in my neighborhood who have the same goal. What part of Central California is British Columbia in anyway?
A Calf person must be a young half human, half cow! (I've never seen one; maybe they live in BC?) Now a Calif. person is an entirely different thing. They put their jeans on one leg at a time and struggle to keep their heads above water just like everyone else, but they carry an additional burden, just being from California. Give us a break, man, it ain't easy being from California. (It ain't easy for a right winger like myself to live in California either.) So, all that being said, I love BC too. I was brought up on an island 20 miles south of your border; moved to California so my wife could become a movie star........ Didn't work.........
ROBSMST, I would like to get together. Tomorrow, Saturday, I will be riding to Salinas Harley Davidson for a BBQ ralley. Maybe I'll see you there??????? noonish..... |

Posts: 52 San Jose, CA | Riding out to Lathrop on Saturday with a couple of my VTX friends. One of them is selling his F model to buy the Cross Country so he is hoping to see it in Lathrop at the tour truck stop.
I live in South SJ so Scotts Valley is probably 20 mins from where I am tops. I'm sure we will have a chance to meet soon and talk about how we can make the cam party happen. |

He already had a CAM party in San Diego. It's our turn here in NorCal, IMO. Maybe at the Ness shop in Dublin, or at Lathrop, or Scuderia in SF, or Bills in Reno or...? Pick any of these locations and I'm in! |

| I am planning on doing the Lloydz cams (and followers) at Ness HQ in Dublin (California, not Ireland). As soon as it starts raining (Dec?). Ness will warranty the work on the engine, which is important to me as I have the factory 5yr warranty ('09 vision) to consider. Would you not consider this an option? |

| I would actually love to do this upgrade, but am hesitant about spending the money with the economy the way it is right now. I have the 5 yr warranty as well so having that coverage from Ness would also be important.
What I was really thinking, though, is that it would be nice to ride with some other Vision owners for a change since all my buddies are mostly HD guys. |

KEVINX ----- How do your numbers compare to the Lloydz cam upgrade?
MDSMITH --- I'm taking my cage out of state for a couple of weeks on a little missionary trip. When I return I am almost always up for a ride. My cell number is 831 588 0695; call me anytime. Same for ROB SMST. AND ANYONE ELSE IN THE AREA. Most of my riding partners have Harleys too. |
