John-

Any chance you happen to talk to Kevin about this party? The reason I ask is because I think him and Lloyd have a gentlemans agreement that Kevin either doesn't do or tries not to do work in Lloydz region, which I think is your area? I'm not sure on this though.

Just thought I'd ask if you talked to Kevin yet. Wouldn't want to see you get the idea going and possibly have it not work out.

Missed this.....

Yes we have an agreement, but I had talked to Lloyd before telling this gentelman to see what he could find.
So thank you for your concern, but it is unfounded

Only bad thing about not visiting KevinX is you don't get the PORK CHOPS! I road 7 hours in and outta level 4-5 T-storms....was worth every rain drop. Still loving the mods and still looking for pork chops that are that good!

You will never find pork chops that good anywhere else... I just had em again on Sunday... We made a special trip to Newberry on the way home from Lobsterfest just for the pork chops...

I know what the rest of you are thinking.... Pork Chops???

Just like the cams, you won't understand until you have em!

Pardon my ignorance but I thought this mod was not applicable to the 09 Vision? I'm rather clueless in this area but I thought I read this on a previous thread.

The good thing about time is that once enough of it pass's; new things happen!! Cost is a bit higher at $1800 to cover the extra parts[carriers, shafts, studs, nuts] an a little more labor to cover the time to get the carriers out, and build the new ones on the bike

you have enough of a following and H.P. freaks to host a ride in!!!! Lets rent out that PorkChop joint, roll in a keg or 2 and we have one hell of a ride in. We could keep that dyno in Gville humming for hours

Might be a good idea if someone posted exactly what a cam party is, what is involved and for how many dollars. Then maybe some info on what improvements one could expect to their vision by doing this mod. Might also want to post any possible negatives from doing the mod just for info. Lots of new folks around here that might be fence sitting awaiting these facts..

Good point...
OK I have worked out a system that will allow me to do two sets of 09 cams in a day, and that is the magic number I needed to make this happen. As most of you know the 09 unlike the 08 requires the cam carries to be swapped making them much more parts, and labor intensive. I have a source for the carriers, studs, nuts, and shafts that costs me less then dealer cost, but the stuff is still not free*LOL*
The deal on the 09 is a bit more expensive then the 08, but still very reasonable for what you gain. In order to have a party I need the following commitment for bikes
Two 2009 bikes
Two 2008 bikes, and one 2009
Two 2009 bikes, and one 2008
Three 2008 bikes-Four 2008 bikes
I can not do more, or less then listed above in the time I will have to do it .

I pay my own travel expenses, and provide my own tools. In order to do this though I need a host that can provide a compressor, pry bar, and a space of about a 2 car garage. The host gets a discount for their time, and effort. Time will be agreed upon when I have enogh comitted bikes in an area.

Prices
2008 is still $1150
2009 is now $1800

Price includes
Cams
Intake plate
VFC3
Carriers, and hardware[2009-2010]
Labor, and basic set up for tune

Results can be found in several places around, but basically you will move from
83/100 to 107+/107+
Here is a pretty typical dyno sheet....

I was starting to believe this was a dead thread. I have been on this site every day for over a year, even though I rarley respond. I've given it a lot of thought, and believe it to be cost effective.
I,ve read read numerous responses, after the upgrade. I do not recall any negative, all extremley positive. I've talked to different dyno tuners at bike rallies that are fimiliar with the products and results, again all positive. If your on the fence, and in this region I hope you will take the plunge.
Lets wake the sleeping giants. I would be honored to host a cam party. I am in south central Pa
Between Harrisburg and Lancaster. Sounds like the man from Jersey is game. Lets have Two more.
Thanks John

KevinX, thanks that is what I was looking to see. Does the bike require a dyno run to fine tune her after the cams? and maybe some input from a rider seat of the pants observation would be helpful? HP/Torq numbers are great but what does it mean for the average rider, aka less shifting, later shifting, better fuel consumption, etc.... or maybe just a stronger more even pull throughout.
I've replaced cams in the past on other bikes but lots of folks haven't so observations from someone who has modified the Vision motor might be the selling point. Thanks again....

Kevin did my bike a few months back. The power increase is fantastic, it has better pull from idle to redline, revs alot quicker too. My fuel mileage on my last tank was 37 MPG, I have been playing with the VFC and got the popping down to a minimum. I had it dynoed just to get the numbers and I got 106HP and 106TQ, (pretty cool out of a 106CI). You cant beat the mod for the price. It cost $1150.00, for everything on my 08, I dont know of any other bike you can get that kinda HP increase for that kinda money.

For the most part I have a set up that provides stron performance right out of the box. A dyno may help a little, but is not really needed. This set up provides the most linear power curve I have ever ridden with. Hit the gas in any gear; at any speed, and it just pulss to the red line. Want to pass on a back country road from 55 just roll on the throttle. Need a little more then click in 5th gear, and zoom you are around. If you reallt want to shock someone throw it in 4th, and 110mph comes REAL QUICK.
On average this mod is good for a 27% increase in peak horse power with signifigant torque gains on BOTH SIDES of peak. If you need a number that is easy to wrap your head around then think.......12.50.....That is the 1/4 mile time a modded Vision is capable of versus the 13.40 that it does with S1. Thats 9/10 of a second quicker in 1320'...an eternity when you need it

I might be interested, when and where? I'd be coming from Fresno........ I've already got the Lloyds VFC and an intake plate, Kevinx quoted me a price but said only one setup minus the plate and controller per party.

Close to 16,500 wonderful miles this year on my 09 with full Lloyds upgrade. I highly recommend it to anyone.
I usually get over 40MPG with the wife on the bike. When out on my own and beating the shit out of my HD buddies,
I still get over 35MPG.
My 111/111 came in Daytona on Lloyds dyno, the bike was brand new with like no miles on it.
At 10,000 miles the bike came in to her own and really opened up.

The when would need to be worked out once we get enough people together. We will have plenty of time to get it sorted out in such a way that it works for everyone.
