Posts: 33 Attleboro, MA | Does anyone have this problem….. When I start the bike in the morning here in New England now that it's cold out. The bike sounds like a cement mixer for a few minutes until it warms up. There is a bad knocking from the back cylinder. The dealer is saying it is normal. From wear (I have 27,000 miles on it) and they say the piston & sleeve expands when warmed up. I asked why is it only in the back cylinder…. They have no answer….. But they will be pulling it apart this winter. Once warmed up the bike runs & sound great
I just wanted to see if this was happening to anyone else

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I had similar sounds and now add about 3 oz. Marvel Mystery Oil and while its still there somewhat its not as loud. Close as my dealer and i can find its the lifters...tiny little buggers that dont take much to get "plugged" I dont have any slippage of the clutch and have been using this for the past 20K miles. Just my 2 cents worth...might be worth a try.
