I met up with Chris and Janis Harbin on Saturday and after visiting for awhile we went for a ride. Chris was complaining on how the CB radio was not very loud so after testing them out for a few miles I suggested we change helmets to see if there was a difference. Chris has the Victory headsets for him and his wife and I have the J&M Elite headset for the Vision.

Once we exchanged helmets Chris couldn’t believe the difference between the two headsets. I put his helmet on with the Victory headset and I could hardly hear the music or voice over the CB. I could not believe how poor the Victory headset was compared to the J&M headset.

If you have the Victory headset for your helmet on the Vision you need to upgrade to the J&M Elite headset. You will be blown away by the difference you will experience.

BTW Chris found a place called www.gearupaz.com that sells the J&M headsets for about 30% off.

Do they work with the Vic connections on the bike? Or do you need to buy the communication kit from J&M too? Sounds like it does since you swapped helmets. I assume you didn't swap bikes too.

They work with the Victory connections. No need for the J&M communication kit.

Yep J&M Elites are the way to go!!! Only have to get the lower cord to match up with the Victory pin outs for the connector!! EXCELLENT SOUND QUALITY!!!

You do however need the down cord for Victory. J&M has always used the same headset. Don't get me wrong they have several flavors from cheap or rather from pricy to really pricy but the difference is each bike has a different downcord to match the audio unit on the bike. I have a headset that has been with me for years and I have used it on a Suzuki Calvalecade on a Gold Wing both 1500 and 1800, on a Harley Tour Glide and I use it now on the Victory. just different cords to connect to the bike. I am finally convinced after this thread...Hmm...I learned to live with the quiet sounds of the CB but a good stereo. ARGH...guess I have to invest in J&M as my buddy says, "you won't be disappointed". I am so close to being 100% done with the extras that I can see the pocket book finally being put away for good (well, cept'n for fuel and maintenance).

I don't know if this is a thank you or another type of email...but damn-it...I have to spend more money. ARGH!

I did some more looking...I found a better price with the cord. Choose the cord at the bottom and it will update the price to 133.50 with 9.30 for shipping for the set...142.80...

If you find a better price...please post...I won't be offended. Want to save money everywhere I can. Its almost Christmas ya know?!

Hi James, the products you have in your post are the performance series of J&M headsets and not the Elite series. There is a big difference between the Performance and the Elite series. Pay the extra money to get the Elite series and you will be happy you did. These headsets will outlast your helmet and can be taken out and placed in a new helmet.
