Anybody take the rubber "snorkle" out of the "airbox" from behind the air cleaner?

I took it out,but all I've done to the bike is stage one mufflers and free flow air cleaner. So do you think this helps, seems like it would, less restrictive.

We just had a thread about this, Lloyd chimed in. Something about airbox retro fit.
Lloyd pulled mine this year at Laconia. Supposed to give more HP, but will make more noise.
I noticed the noise difference right away.

With an intake plate installed, can't see why the snorkle removal would increase hp. I had the snorkle out for awhile, could not see any difference.
