Posts: 169 The Vic Shop - Central Iowa | I posted this in the VMC too. KevinX and I are friends and have worked out a gentlemans agreement on "cam party" locations. As the one planned for October fizzled out due to lack of interested parties, I thought I would give it a second chance this December.
My in-laws live in the NW surburbs and we'll be back for the week leading up to Xmas (Dec 19th - 26th). Since I'll be in town anyway, and I'll be driving in (not flying) I'll be able to do as few or as many bikes as are needed (Kevin needs a minimum to make it worth his while).
Like Kevin, I'm a Vic tech with many years experience. I run my own shop here in Iowa, but I was there at the Denver cam party in August to pick up a few tricks from The Master.
As well as Visions I can also work on steel frame bikes. So if you have an 05 Hammer, for example, that you need an intake and/or cams installed, I can do that as well. Of course I will need a place to work out of. I'll bring my own tools. If there is any interest in a large scale build I can bring my truck and trailer with me and haul your bike back to Iowa and perform and number of power or appearance upgrades.
I welcome all feedback and questions. Thanks for your consideration. Here's a great opportunity to give yourself a nice Christmas present!

| Don't think twice on the quality of Ryan's work, he is the real deal. There are only a handful of good mechanics in the U.S., he is one of them. I would let him do anything on my Bike as I would KevinX. |

Thanks Rylan. |

Posts: 169 The Vic Shop - Central Iowa | Thanks for the kind words fellas! Spread the word about this cam party, I'd need a few weeks to get the parts lined up, so a decision would have to be made pretty soon. Either way it would be nice to meet up with some fellow Vicsters over the Xmas break - get away from the in-laws for a few hours! |

I agree. I have no trailer to haul the VV, but if it were riding weather, I would be interested. |

Posts: 169 The Vic Shop - Central Iowa | Mgoblue and GeekVisionRider. Seems both of you are about 3hrs from of ChiTown. I could be convinced to pay a visit to both of your towns this winter if there was more than one bike to work on. Having two or more bikes makes the drive worth the while. Or we could meet up in the Spring if you like, I'm just an e-mail away.
And as for the Chicago area riders - I've got the cams reserved. Just drop me a line and we'll make it happen.

There are only 2 VV that I know of in this area. Mine and one other. I was just thinking, this mod would almost definitely void a warranty wouldnt it? Maybe I should wait. |

It would only void your warranty if you TOLD the dealership working on your bike that you had modified cams. Other than that, there is no way to tell...

Well I could ramble on about warranty for quite a while, but it boils down to your realtionship with dealer, and the problem thats warranty.
The dealership has the ability to decide if they are going to tell polaris that you have cams/fuel controller in the bike. You have a bad relationship, magically the cams created a vibration which caused a small piece of plastic on the fairing to break and they deny your claim on that piece.
You have a good relationship, the dealer realizes that the cams have absolutly nothing to do with the rest of the bike and the claim goes through. Obviously if you have a claim having to do with the valvetrain then they won't cover it, but there have been HUNDREDS of these cams installed in Visions and I have yet to hear of a single problem.

Well, the dealer is pretty cool. The service guy is very cool. I should be ok. |

That would be awesome! I ordered one 08 and one 09 from Lloyd today. I need to know ASAP because it seems that Lloyd's cam batches go quickly. I like to order well in advance so that I don't get a week away and then Lloyd is out of stock. He says a new batch will be in later in the week, so if I can reserve one, two, or even five sets the sooner the better. Thanks,

Posts: 23 WI | This is not a rush order, like I said I am still trying to get them to commit. I am thinking about setting up something a little later in the spring as I will be on a cruise the 2nd weekend in March. If I can not get something worked out with my fellow riders would it be possible for me to ride to your location on a Friday, Have cams installed on Saturday and head back home Sunday? |

Posts: 169 The Vic Shop - Central Iowa | Yeah, I'm open to about anything. If only one or two people want it done on the second week of March, I'm coming up then. If the rest want to wait, I can do them later. I'm located in Iowa, have in-laws in Chicago, and also have a good gas milage car, so I can do this mod here at my shop, up in Chicago, or at your house wherever in the Midwest that may be.
Thanks,
