I had the stage 1 put on a few weeks ago on my 09 Vision and I've only heard it pop a couple of time but nothing major. I love the sound even though I do have to crank the stereo a bit more.

Banjo thats a legit question and I can't wait to hear the replies. Most of the folks I've been reading on this site seem to have a problem with the popping, but maybe it is just the folks posting about it BECAUSE they do. Would be nice to hear from all the folks with the S1 pipes installed for a comparison.

Had my Stage 1 with the six shooter tips installed yesterday. On the 85 mile ride home, it popped maybe two or three times and that was on the up-shift. Rode around town today 18-20 miles, no popping. I did notice on the ride down I averaged 41.3 mpg, on the ride home, I averaged 43.5 mpg. I now have 900 miles on my bike. I will post more as I add miles.

Popping can be controlled by riding style/shifting smootheness - don't know how else to explain it. I bought mine with stage 1/gatlins - and it popped when I was lazy with my driving - I got a little crisper - no more popping. NONE.
Until I got KevinXinated.... then it popped again - and more spirited - and annoying. Once again - controlled completely with slight modification of driving technique. Laziness = popping. For me...... and easily controlled.

I wonder how the exhaust gasket variable factors into this. Is there less popping (all other things equal) with
replaement gaskets? Lloyd sells a set of "exhaust gaskets that work"; my dealer only installs the '99 stlye, as they have problems with
the later ones sealing well.

You shouldn't have to have a certain "style" to ride your bike without it farting. With that said the Vision likes the extra attention. Lloyds Stage 1 Cams, Ness Twin Sucker, and Lloyd's fuel controller on it's way............hope it doesn't make it worse.

donetracy is exactlly right. I bought my 08 with stg1 lvl2 pipes and then a mere 200 miles latter i decided i wanted more sound so i put the Big Honkers on. Needless to say it pops with either one on, unless your a liitle more precise on your riding stlye. I had a big problem trying to brake myself of blurping the throttle before every down shift. Now that i don"t.....no more popping.
