kodonnell1 - 2009-12-08 8:28 PM Hello All I'm trying to find the Gps unit that comes with the XM hook-up. I have checked Radio Shack, Target, Best Buy, Office Max, Stapples, FYE, Inkleys. Nobody carries the unit that has both. Please let me know if another store might have the GPS that fits on the vision. I also need to know if I will have to buy the XM attena with the GPS and any special cable to hook it up to the bike. Thank you all for your help in solving this delema for me. Go to http://www.getfeetwet.com/ strange name for a fabulous GPS-only retailer. Although discontinued by Garmin, I bought new-in-the-box GARMIN 2820 GPS that came bundled with GMX-30 antenna. Excellent bundled price. Don't know if getfeetwet still sells it - you'll have to check. This is the identical unit that Victory offered with their 2008/2009 visions, but a heck of lot cheaper. It uses the same connector and mount that you can buy from Victory. It's waterproof and made for motorcycles. Neat thing is that it came with all the accessories for use in a car, so I use it for both. When I'm on travel and rent a car, that 2820 comes along with me! XM is integrated, so you need the GMX-30. If you subscribe to traffic and weather, those features are also integrated. Traffic is sweet cuz the 2820 will visually and verbally tell you accidents and slowdowns. Another bonus is bluetooth integration. I have the nolan helmet with bluetooth and iPhone 3g, so everything works together. I get routing guidance in my helmet speakers and my music from the vision speakers or direct the output of the GPS to the visions speakers as well. You can look at other units, but you'll encounter lot's of problems with trying to integrate into the vision's radio. Hope this helps! Vince. |
