Well after at least a month' wait to find the parts and get the right peices in...I have finally finished my Zumo 550 install...Thanks a lot to Candubrain as he identified the parts and part numbers for the connectors to make this install splice less.... I took the AMP 719319-7 and the pins (AMP 719309-1); crimped them VERY carefully to the wires from my Zumo (power and audio) and then pushed them through the housing of the AMP connector for a factory type clean install...It took several tries with the pins, because if you deform the pins any way, they will NOT extend all the way thru the housing to make contact with the female socket...SO for those who try this GO SLOW and DO NOT DEFORM THE PINS....I had to use a magnifying glass just to see the metal tabs that fold over on the pins...I'm blind but not that blind..>These things are tiny!! I now turn the key to the on position and my Zumo senses the power and starts automatically...SWEET!!! I will post some pictures over the weekend once I get the open holes in the housing epoxy'ed off and weatherproof...Now time for the luggage rack!!! And then I'm done as far as I know!!! Until someone posts something else that I just CAN NOT live without!!! |
