I got a day off from the family and work over the holidays. It was cold but clear, so what is a guy to do? Put on a second layer and take the Vision out for a ride, of course!
From my sidebar info, you can see that I am from Goldsboro, NC. I am an import from NW PA. Something that glares at me every single ride is the lack of terrain around here. Hence, my day off ride took me to the foothills north of Raleigh.
Circumnavigating Falls Lake took me into hills, twisties and some sweepers as well. What a ride! Road, machine, and giggling little boy blended together to really show off what the Vision can do if actually asked.
Somewhere in the middle of it all... ****POOF***... the bike disappeared.
Not in reality, of course... but the smooth working of the machine and the challenge presented by the road finally allowed me to achieve that let's-do-it-again-daddy zen bonding with the bike that makes it disappear and the man-machine gestalt swoops down the asphalt like a steel dragon in full romp.
Not once did the tail shimmy, the gears miss a shift or the engine fail to put down the torque required to thrill this rider. Even when I chose to hit a turn aggressively, the floorboards never complained. The brakes delivered well under fairly heavy use.
Poetry aside... I can tell you that the Victory Vision delivers every iota of performance I could ever dream for a bike... and I am glad I own one.
Happy New Year. May you all experience at least one day like mine of 22DEC09. |

trailbarge, what a great write up on you ride on 12/22/09. I've been there many times right along with you! I would like to add to your comment though...
