It will replace my 2820 with the latest and greatest and keep my XM. I think it will mount using the same 660 mount.
anyway...any idea where to find this for other than a grand? It does come with the GXM antenna unlike the 2820 which I had to pay extra for an antenna.

Posts: 189 Baltimore, Md | I think there was another thread on this a few weeks back. I doubt you'll find it for less than about $925 as it is new and isn't even released yet as far as I know. Also, given that the XM antenna (a $250 option) is included, the price will probably stay higher than other units. I would consider getting one to replace my 2820, but wonder about losing the direct cable connection that I have now and is built into the Vision. If it can still be direct connected and just change out the mount, I would do it. |

I'm also thinking of buying the 660. Did you use the mounting hardware that came with the unit? Did you need to purchase the Victory harness? I understand that it is BlueTooth . . . have you had any luck pairing with BT headsets like the Scala Rider? |

| I have looked at the zumo 660 on the Pure Polaris site. The 660 is listed as not having audio integration on the 2008/ 2009 Visions. Does anyone know if this is true. I assume this means I cannot hear the directions over the Vision's speakers?
I just purchased my 2009 vision 1 month ago and I was looking for a GPS. I looked at the Garmin 2820 but it is listed as discontinued on the Garmin site.
Thanks

Posts: 189 Baltimore, Md | The 2820 is discontinued, but still available at various locations. Even Amazon has it at about $499. I had been thinking of picking one up even cheaper as a backup in case my original 2820 goes south. However, I like the features of the new Zumo 665 and only wonder about integrating it with my '08 Vision. I use helmet headsets almost exclusively, so I guess I could get by without the 2820's level of integration, but I like having everything integrated. Decisions, decisions. |

Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | Finally got the 660 wiring mod done to hook it up to the 08 GPS connection.
The 660 has Audio capability with the 08 but you have to build a custom inteface cable because the 2010 harness has a different connector. There is a thread here on the site about how to build the cabe plug to run power and audio into the 08 GPS Connector.
I am able to hear audio going through the speakers but I noticed a loose connection on the plug that I have to troubleshoot. If I move the plug wires around the sound gets much louder. So that is my project after the Big Bend ride this weekend.
My plans are to use Bluetooth for listening to the Zumo Audio. I bought the Camos BTS 300 bluetooth for my helmet and paired it with the Zumo with no problem. So I can hear audio and directions via bluetooth if I can't get the audio louder through the speakers.
As for Man314's question - I used the 660 Motorcycle mount but did have to buy the Victory Aluminum mount since the 2720-2820 moiunt would not work.

Posts: 135 Yellowknife, NT Canada | I am curious. Did the 660 have a mono output on the wiring harness or stereo? I know with the 2008 and 2009 it will not matter the radio GPS connection is mono... But the 665 will output the XM Satellite radio and I wondered if the stereo connection is supported there. I have sent a question to that end to Garmin.. Will come back to this when they give me an answer.. |

Posts: 492 Indianapolis, IN | I have installed the the victory mount and harness for the Garmin 660 on my 10 Vision. The plan is to purchase the 665 from the best source I can locate sometime in the next month or so and try it out. If it doesn't work I will send it back and buy the 660 instead. If it does work I will report back as to functionality of all features, especially the XM receiver.
By the way, if you compare the information on the Garmin site regarding the Model 660 and 665 almost all the accessories are interchangeable for the two models. This is why I'm willing to bet that the 665 will work fine on the 2010 Vision, CC or CR. |

Posts: 135 Yellowknife, NT Canada | I have been able to confirm that the GPS input to the Vision 2010 radio is also mono. Same as the 2008 and 2009. With the Zumo 665 there is stereo XM through Bluetooth. The StreetPilot 2820 had bluetooth but did not deliver it in stereo (if you know better please share). You will need to use the MP3 connection to get this audio into the bike radio for either unit.
If you want bluetooth stereo on any MP3 device, or the Garmin 2820, even XM satellite units, check this out..

This bluetooth unit works while being plugged into the bike. Has a power connection to facilitate this.
If you have more than one device to connect to your bike radio, -or-, that you want to bluetooth to your helmet with the above bluetooth module, check this link out.

I will complete my tests with these units on my Vision during the June 4th weekend. |

Posts: 135 Yellowknife, NT Canada | I have an update on this. Victory has swapped out my 2008 radio with a 2010 and it has a stereo connection. The 2008 and 2009 bikes are not wired in the radio connector for it. I have rectified that and will upgrade my GPS to a Zumo 665. |

Are you sure about that? It is my understanding that the '10 have a stereo GPS input. In fact, that is why it comes with five cable connectors instead of 4 like in the '08 & '09s...

I found the same thing on my '11. The extra wire which I think was yellow, didn't do anything. I was hoping for stereo as well but no luck. I added XM and that's what I ended up listening to all the time anyway.
