Posts: 340 Regina Saskatchewan Canada | Has anyone played around with the rear shock air pressure to see how it affects the ride and handling? Have you came to any conclusions about ideal pressures for various load weights? Are you using the Victory or Progressive's hand air pump or something else?

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | When I ride alone, I have basically no to very little up to 5 psi on the shock. Gives a very good ride, does not wallow in the curves, and does not bottom out. I weigh in around 200, plus a little weight in the trunk and bags.
When I ride two up, I put about 20 - 26 psi on the shock. Ride & handling are good and does not bottom out. I can't, and won't say what the wife weighs, I just don't go there.
The ideal pressure, I don't know........I have the Victory pump. |

Posts: 294 rhode island | there are recommened air pressures near the air valve, i weigh 220 and air up to 38p.s.i with two up 60p.s.i ride is firm but still very compliant keeping some air the shock should help the air bladder from cracking from non use. i use the victory pump also. high pressure air pumps could damage the bladder |

Posts: 550 Tacoma, WA | I finally got smart and adjusted mine for two-up riding. It was only at 20#! My girl and I were bottoming out over larger bumps, and I was getting the high-beam flash from other motorists WAY too often. Now, at 50# it is all good! |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | When I first got the bike I couldnt believe how well it took all the dips and bumps without any problem at 35mph. Now that I'm more comfortable, I'm hitting some of them at 45-50. I'm curious if another 10 psi will help or hinder? |

Posts: 849 , FL United States | I run mine @ 50# for 2up riding (which is most of the time). When I go out solo, I don't bother to reset it.
BTW the other day I rode after a rain shower. While accelerating up an Interstate 95 on-ramp, the Vis got a little "squirrelly" when I shifted into 2nd. I let off the throttle quickly & she settled down nicely. This bike has ssooooooooo much power that it raises my "pucker factor" from time to time when I get down hard on the throttle. i have been playing with the pressure a little. 25 solo (200lbs.), above that rear feels a little squirrely. Two up plus wifes stuff, 30-35, gives a nice smooth ride. Rides better two up. |

Posts: 185 Nebraska | I have been adjusting it when I ride 2up vs one up. I really like the feel of it lower when Im 1 up. An electric pump would be a real nice feature. I wouldnt think it would be hard to do. |
