Anyone come up with a place for a cup holder? I'm thinking of adding one. Also got to look at my Super Steel Vision (the fastest color) with the sixshooters and stage 1 pipes installed tonight. Liking it more and more!

C'mon. Nobody else wants a cup holder? This is a serious touring question. I only get about 30 mpmd (miles per Mt. Dew) and I can't see kicking that habit anytime soon.

I too would like somewhere to put my Dr. Pepper or mt. dew. But for the moment, I have been relegated to sticking it in my shirt pocket. Like to have my morning coffee. I have seen a few cup holders but nothing I want to stick on my bike. I saw a guy riding a Harley who had one stuck on the side cage of the saddle bags. Thought that was slick. The only thing I could come up with was to attach one to the rear tip over bars. Within easy reach seems easily doable.

I believe the Butler mug and holder that is used a lot on the Goldwing and other touring bikes will adapt to the Vision. The mounting holes are elongated to allow for different spacing of the bolts from the handlebar controls. Check them out at www.glassact.com

Riding in the heat can dehydrate a rider very quickly. I have to find one myself for sure! I sure hope I find one soon, the desert is going to be getting hot quickly here in SoNev!

I've got a new water bottle holder for a bicycle, and if I get desperate, I may be mounting it to my handlebar with some long cable ties!

I love that!! (30 mpmd) Gotta remember that one.
I've seen a lot of cup holders out there, but don't know if they'll work on the oddly shaped bars of the Vision.

I will be using the ram mount to hold my drink and my camera my old unit fits just fine I do need a little longer U bolt to fit the bars properly.
here is the link to there motorcycle mounts.
http://www.ram-mount.com/products/motorcycles.htm
this is what I have. http://products.ram-mount.com/rammount/productdetail.aspx?partnumbe... works great with my canon mini dv no skipping nothing.
The 12v power is sweet I can run my camera all day and just change out the tapes.

I will be ordering the cup holder mount today, chrome of course.
Ram mounts are the best as far as I am concerned they make mounts for everything you could ever want on your bike.
I hope this helps all who are wanting a nice refreshing drink while riding.

Did you miss the item mounted next to the mirror on the left side? Was the first thing I installed. ET

I can't remember the name of it, but they sell them at every bike shop for$20. If you take the cover off the front and look in there. You will see the honeycone supports for the speakers. I drilled a hole in the big space about half way down. Then I just bolted the cup holder there. It works well. ET

PS: It may be easier to show with pictures. Hollar if you want me to take some of it.

Look in the Gallery under Alberts46 Utopia seat back and you will see a cup holder I installed. I purchased the folding adjustable cup holder from Bass Pro Shop for under $7.00, used two chrome wire ties and it has worked like a charm. I am going to take it off and paint it silver in the next few days.

This is something that I would have thought they would have included with this bike. I haven't installed one yet but meanwhile when I head out I buy a bottle of water, I get a good drink then stand it up inside the right saddle bag. This is not a good solution for when you need a drink cruising down the street, but when I am at a traffic light I can reach back and open the bag and get the water. The amazing thing is that on several trips I have gone as far as 200 miles and the water is still standing upright when I reach for it!

The other drink I like on these hot Texas days is Whataburger Chocolate Shakes, When the wife isn't riding (which incidentally is the only time I'm allowed to get a chocolate shakes anyway, what she don't know don't hurt her) I can use the folded up passenger floorboard as a drink holder. a small whataburger shake cup fits right in between the floorboard and the side cover, it's easy to reach and I have traveled down the interstate at 70 MPH without worry of it flying out!

I've uploaded pics to my gallery of the cup holder that I've mounted to my dash.Similar to some, but different variation. I've used a RAM mount, so it canbe removed quickly, or used to camera, etc.

(I believe that the cup holder name that someone else wwas trying to remember was Kruzer Kaddy)

Here is a quick view of mine. Check the gallery for more pics.

Instead of fighting a cup holder I wear a Camelbak...............looks kinda strange but on the road I have 70oz of Cold water that is a snap to refill at a BIO stop................when I was riding the 'other' VTWIN those folks got a big laugh the first time I rode with my Camelbak. Imagine my smile when several weeks later on another ride there were several Camelbaks present.

It do get HOT in Texas this time of the year and dehydration is a real concern.

Those are my ba77s.... When I wanted to learn to ride 2 1/2 years ago, my hubby said that I could ride, that I didn't have ba77s. So, I went and got me those, and dangled them in his face, and said "Where's my bike?" and he got me a shadow 750. (I don't know why they are grey in that picture. They're pink in real life. Y'all act surprised...)

Here's his ba77s....

ViVi backside

I keep them there for safe keeping. Two nights a week, I let him have them to go out with the boys. As long as they are back by midnight, they don't turn into a pumpkin....

I took a bicycle-mount bottle holder (with an adjustable strap) and bent the top of its frame 90 degrees into an L-shape. Hung it on my right handlebar, with the bend on top of the brake fluid reservoir, with a piece of rubber in between the holder frame and the handlebar/reservoir as scuff protection. I used black zip ties to hold it on. Looks pretty good and works great. I actually had someone ask where I got it, thinking that it was an actual accessory.

I would show pics, but I'm about 6,000 miles away from the bike right now. You'll just have to use your imagination. <sorry>

What I've done in the past, & not yet to the Vision (time thing) is to raid someones pedal bike for the bottle holder & mount it to the handle bars by drilling & tapping for stainless machine screws.

The roadrunner holder looks good, but says its for any 1 1/4 inch round bar, probably wont bolt up correctly on the vision handlebars

I'm considering this:
http://www.ram-mount.com/mount/victory_vision_mount.htm
It looks like it's pretty new. They also have a set with the same thread pitch, M10 sized ball mount/self-leveling cup holder combo at the bottom-right of this page:
http://www.ram-mount.com/drinkcupmount/drinkcup_mount.htm
I think the ball mount is the same size but they don't show the bolt length. I'm emailing them to find out if they are; in fact, the same size. It would'nt mind buying into their mounting system and picking up a few things that would attach to the ball mount. Similar to what Trixie's done with her cam, cup holder, etc. Anyone try the Vision specific ball mount yet?

I used a regular u bolted Ram mount. Bought a 3/4" pipe ubolt at home depot and it fit in the ram mount and around the Vision's bars , perfectly.

I positioned the Ram self leveling cup holder on the back part of the bars to the right of the audio control pod. Close by,no view blocking,no clearance issues. Worked flawlessly on our 700 nile 3 day V2V run.

They say the ball is to mount in the threads for a rear view mirror but there is no such hole/threads for a bolt on the Vision. The place they show the bolt mounting is the light switch to select low or high beam. I don't see where this could mount on the Vision like they say it will unless it replaces the bolt for the clutch hand lever and I don't think that would work.

I just installed the RAM Cup holder on Monday. Same style and mounting location that GAgirlTrixie used in her picture. Looks good and works great. Now I can eliminate some of those drink stops between fuel stops and just drink while on the move. It also means that I can pick up a Tim Hortons coffee on the way to work in the morning as well. Should be interesting to see the reaction the first time I go through the drive-thru.

Incidentally, I also installed the same GPS/Mount that GAgirlTrixie is using. Could this be a case of great minds think alike????

Bigwill,

That GPS mount looks great, however, that's where my high/low beam switch is located. I don't see anywhere for a threaded hole.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Mike, I gave RAM a call and they acknowledged that the animation of where the ball mount goes is wrong. On the Victory Jackpot there are mirror mounting locations on the clutch and front brake reservoirs, the people at RAM assumed that since the reservoirs on the Vision and Jackpot are of the same basic design that on the Vision there were the unused mirror mounting holes where they could put a RAM ball. They didn't come up with anything else, but I will be mounting my cupholder in the same fashion as GAgirlTrixie.

GOOD CATCH! Sorry for the WRONG info!!! I emailed them and they didn't respond, so I guess that means that they are NOT going to be offering this for the Vision like they stated on their website. You all saved me a lot of time and frusteration here. I'm stuck offshore in the Gulf of Mexico right now, so I didn't have the oppertunity to take a look at the supposed mounting location on my bike. I hope no one acted on a whim and bought the thing! I don't have the option of editing the original post I made with the link. As a company, I still like Ram Mount though. Their website shows a lifetime manufacturing warranty on their products. I'll probably get the universal ball mount like Trixie's too.

**UPDATE**
Ram emailed me back and told me that the M10 bolt I was looking at was correct and he (that particular rep) believed it to be a great fit for my Vision. I emailed them back and told them that they had more research to do because that mounting location does not exist on the Vision. Anyway, thanks to GATrixiegirl for the great info. I've ordered a couple of the 9mm bolt, ball mounts for each side of the under-dash; another type to experiment with, a cup holder and one of the aquaboxes for my cell phone. It's gonna be like Christmas for me when I get back next week!
Thanks again,

I have spoken to the Director of Marketing for RAM - Aaron Hersey and between his pictures and mine we were able to determine that their website was indeed wrong and he is changing it right away. He found out what the deal was - Victory will be offering this combination, RAM 10mm ball, cup holder and special billet mount as an accessory, probably for 2009. Here's a picture of what it will look like and why there was so much confusion.

In the meantime, I'm installing mine ala GAgirlTrixie...

Neat looking cup holder. But, It appears to me that it blocks your line of sight to the dash indicators, like the oil pressure light and everything else. Does it just look that way in the picture or am I seeing right?

I used a Bass Pro Shop fold up cup holder, found in their "marine" dept, which I first saw on this forum by another poster. I threaded two zip ties between the handlebar and the clutch reservoir, then slightly elongated the outside mounting holes on the cupholder so the zip ties would fit through. Fed the zip ties through the holes, connected the ends, pulled hard, cut off the excess, then placed just the tiniest dab of Gorilla glue out of sight at the edge of the zip tie, onto the handlebar to keep movement minimized. Mounted a second one on the right side of the rear pod, near the front of the side, so m'lady can also have liquid refreshment while underway. Whole thing cost about $12 (for 2 cup holders), and took less than 30 minutes to install. I'll remove both after our long trip, as we don't need these on a daily basis, just while on multiple consecutive 500 mile blasts to get us from CO to WA.

Thanks again for the mounting info Trixie! I got my mounts on the underside of my dash last night. The underside of the dash is truely much more stable than I would have thought (the top cover is very flimsey). Now I have the cup holder on either side and an accessory (aqua box or camera) on the other. BTW, the long mount arm is in the way unless you are planning on using it while you are sitting parked (due to handlebar swing). It makes my Vision the most expensive tripod I've bought for photography so far!
Thanks again,
-Will
