This is not shameless self promotion, but I just posted a piece to the blog that should be read by any motorcycle enthusiast. The blog has gotten long and wordy. So to save you having to scroll through it to find this piece, here's a link directly to this post: http://gadgetguru.com/Victory%20Vision%20Blog.htm#Day%2010

As I've stated previously, I have no profit motive in the creation of my Vision blog. It is simply a personal diary that I can only hope will assist others considering a Vision in the future.

Please post any responses or replies to this thread.

Thanks for all the kind words and notes. Also, in just a short eleven day period, I felt I've made some new friends here. Thank you for such a warm welcome.

Best Regards,

Andy

Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby!
Andy,
I can appreciate your input to the utmost. Next on my list is some under-Bohns! I don't have much gear for taking an unwanted "slide" besides denim trousers, boots, and an old fashioned leather jacket.

This weekend the weather here in the 'Vegas/Norther AZ region was cool (50-60) and possibilities of wind and rain. I dressed in layers including a Nike wind breaker upper lower outfit. I felt awful pudgey, allowing that I' kind-of a fat guy already!

The 115 mile ride to Kingman AZ Sat. was chilly and I wonder if the Bohn would also serve as a windbreaker even though it's an undergarment? The bike handled great in the wind, but like I said, I felt a bit "restricted". Coming back on Sun was much the same, although the wind was behind and pushing me to upward of 50+ miles per gallon on my fuel consumption readout.

I am rethinking my riding gear for summer, because it gets upwards of 115 degrees locally to 135+ on our Death Valley runs. A "slide" here would not only burn, but fry, or charbroil!

Thanks for the scoop!

Hi Ed,
Since I have not ridden using the Bohn system in cold weather, it's difficult to give an honest answer. I posted a link to the Bohn website on the blog. However, since it IS layered and will be worn underneath jeans and/or a shirt/jacket, it makes sense that it should assist in keeping out the wind. If you decide to purchase a pair, make sure you get a return guarantee. This way you can't lose. I'm interested in your take after you're tried them in cooler temps.

Gents, if you have the grips/saddle warmer, all you need is a pair of long john skivvies and a windbreaker. Last year on the HD, I froze my butt off and wore the long johns and black leather jacket with leather vest. This winter (approx. 25-38) degree driving (32 miles one way to work), with my Buckeyes wind breaker (simple cotton liner) and long johns. The only thing that got chilly was my ears. The wind deflection and heaters allowed me to ride in a cacoon of warmeth.
