Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone tried this idea yet. I was thinking about putting mirrors on that attach to the existing 10 mm x 1.25 holes in the clutch and brake reservoirs and then removing the existing mirrors and coming up with something to cover the original mirror mounts. I've seen some guys do it to a Harley Street Glide and then use the original area for additional speakers. I don't need additional speakers so maybe some kind of cover? I'm used to seeing a helluva lot more behind me than what the originals show. What do ya think?

I like it Marc since I saw the Monster Vision. I have an 08 so I'd have to drill the holes first, but with you...

Now to find some nice mirrors to use that aren't too gaudy. Black ones would be nice. I was thinking about the ones off of my GS but the r/s one has reverse threads.

Marc --- how have you morphed you 10 into an eight-ball? I'm more concerned with the chassis which is lower, did you?

I'll have to post some pics next week after it gets washed It was a pretty extensive job. The dealer took my '10 Vision Premium and a '10 8 Ball and swapped ALL the black parts from the 8 Ball to my bike. The only parts we left were the chrome handlebars and the chrome valve covers. It took the tech about 32 hours to complete which included painting the hand controls. I'm talking forks, engine covers, panels, painted radio console, wheels, sprocket, foot controls, etc, etc. Everything. I ended up with what looks like an 8 Ball but with all the upgrades that come on a Premium. The only non-factory painted panel is the radio console. The rear suspension and the seat are original Premium as is the screen. Looks exactly as I wanted. The original was too gaudy for me but the 8 Ball looked really nice so....

I finished the mirrors. They worked out great. I can now see everything behind me and to the side. I took the original mirrors to the top shop and had them covered in vinyl which has the same color and finish as the adjacent plastic. Here are a couple of pics:

Nice work. I wonder if LED's can be added for turn signals like Muth Mirrors???

I think a rear-facing camera wired to dual monitors in those spaces would be very cool.

Maybe just a touch overkill

I like SongFan's idea, but one monitor should be a GPS screen.

I like it, but could never do it. I am too used to my left mirror shaking that I wouldn't know what to do.

I really do like it Marc.......BUT for me I quote the great line in "Contact"........sure seems like an awful waste of space!!

I would say maybe GPS on one and FLIR night vision on the other BUT.........a nice array of LED's or other tech to be noticed more might be a little more realistic.

Agreed. An LCD screen for the center console with a backup up camera mounted in the rear license plate. Can this be done?

The mirrors I have only show my gloves!

I wonder if it can be used for other gauges like?

Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Intake Vacuum, Status of the 5th and 6th gear bypass switch, Tire pressure, Beer Temperature, FLIR display, GPS, Available Torque, Brake fluid pressure for both the Front and back brakes.
