| First, I was to thank a forum member, Charbin, for helping me understand the dynamics of a diode and talking me thru getting this project done. THANKS CHRIS. Take a look. Chris said the mod was not for the faint of heart and I am not even going to go into detail here.

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I've given up on the LED mod but am totally interested in this one. Sure wish Victory had done this from the start. Killer job! Now to read the charbin write-up about 100 more times til I get it. Probably wouldn't have been worth it til I saw the video. Thanks guys. |

| Fyi, I did not go the LED route. I kept the 3157 lamps in place. I am going to tackle the front later this weekend, although it looks like a short and easy job to do. |

| rikrok,
I have been wanting to do this for some time as well. I am NOT an electrical system savy person and wasn't aware you could do this mod w/out switching to LED's?? What are some reasons for and against going the all LED route??

| I know of two reasons to go to LED's. They use less power and are brighter. I'm not concerned about either, the stockers seem plenty bright enough for me. Also, unless you are going to mess around with resistors, you are going to get fast flash. |

Posts: 88 Lavon, TX | If you also do the trunk light mod (converting them to running/brake/signal using the Kuryakyn 4710 controller with its included 4810 2A load equalizer, and also order an extra 4810) you can get your flash rate back to a reasonable level after converting to LEDs - with minimal disturbance to the wiring. Here's the link to my instructions for the sequential blinkers: http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=5732&posts=1&start=1 SongFan, your motovational poster of my mod was great!!

Great write up in the tech reference. I have wired in the Kuryakyn 4710, the 99 led brake light and pulled the G&H pins.
Just not sure if I should tackle your mod account of having a isolator/converter wired in for the trailer lights. Tom
Rikrok, Way to go and make it work Tom

| Tom,
I started off with a converter, but all I could only find ones that are meant for 1 lamp per side (rated at 2.1A). With the brake lights on I was at triple that and it heated up immediatly. Anthing with a higher amperage uses a isolated 12v supply and that just throw a whole new monkey wrench in the equasion. |

Rick Interesting mod information and thanks. With my trailer wiring harness isolated on it's own 12v supply and trigger wires that I soldered into the rear turn, brake and tail lights. I'm reluctant to change anything. Tom

Have you though of making up signal harness with the mods all ready done and sell them on a exchange.
I would have money at your house in the morning. Very cool. I wish I had the talent. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | rikrok, I e-mailed webelectric to see how I would wire up the STS-1 sequencer. This is what they said: You will need to install a trailer converter to combine the signal and brake light circuits. Once you do that, you will connect the outputs of the converter to the left and right #1 lamps, respectively. You will also connect the power to the STS-1 modules to this wire.
Then, you will connect the white module wire to the #2 lamp, and the blue module wire to the #3 lamp. I'm ok with all that but noticed that you said you started off with a converter but it got too hot. What did you do to overcome the heat? Do I need to get a high-amp converter (with it's dedicated power wire) and use it to wire into my tail lights? I'm going to stick with the stock bulbs so this is not a full blown charbin mod. I love the burst stop light. The whole look is killer. (What happened to the video?) |
