Posts: 301 Buffalo Grove,Ill | I hear people talk about this all the time, mine does it too when i first start out after the bike sits overnight , but then goes away after a min or two. i talked to the dealer and he says the pulley is fine and the alignment is fine. So im just going to leave it alone. So it squeals a little at first, so does my wife. |

Posts: 93 Saskatchewan (hard to say, easy to draw ) | Just a touch of belt dressing after an initial alignment adjust and mine is good again. Don't know if that is OK, but it sure worked! No chirp or whine , just nice and quite. Nothing like having your kids on their machines beside you and the chirp kicks in on take off! That HAD to stop 'cause the boys are relentless in picking on dad and his 'rolling couch'. (Never mind that tho only one that can beat me is my youngest on his VMax!). |

Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | I had a weird problem this weekend, I was hearing an obvious ryhthm rubbing somewhere and found that the belt was rock hard tight. Luckliy a Hill Country Yamaha shop looked at it. The rear axel was "Not as Tight" as the tech would have thought and it aparrently slipped back and tightened the belt. Resetting the tension on the belt fixed the rubbing. Never had that happen before |

| rmclarty, it should not have been able to do that unless he forgot to tighten the tensioners as well. I'd be sure and let your dealer know. Mistakes happen but they need to be more careful when it is something that could have put you down hard. I don't know why the service department doesn't put a second set of eyes on a job before rolling a bike out. |

| Just took mine in for this very reason, they said it was the rear pulley and are putting a new one on. Mine also is an 08. |
