Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Kevinx: if you read this what kind of power could I expect with one of your cam swaps a Lloyds 6400rpm rev limiter, high flow air cleaner and thundersticks with dyno tuning? I want to ride down to Gainesville sometime at the end of the summer and get you to do this all at one time. Thanks............steve |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Looking at other dyno sheets the torque curve is falling off just a little bit when the engine is throttled off right before 5500 rpm. If the torque curve contiues down at the same rate to 6200 I'd expect a little more than 120 HP, only the real setup will tell though, you never know when the ports/ and or valves start to give up.................I bet Lloydz knows the exact rpm when stock heads start choking but since I'll be going to Gainesville instead of NY, I thought I'd ask Kevin............ |

| XRsteve, I'd say 109x113 as previously noted is what you could expect. The over rev isn't going to give you anything extra as you are moving beyond the peak where it begins falling off. Of course it will let you rev out a little longer in each gear which I'm use to doing and would very much like. I'll be interested to hear kevins thoughts on this just the same..... |

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | Looking around at the many charts I have I would expect to see 4-5HP gained by the rev extend, but that would be about it. The thing about a torque curve falling off is that it starts gradually, and then plumets.
That said; the bike with the rev extend will be quicker by a larger margin then the numbers might indicate. As it is the limiter comes REAL quick with a stock ECM, and that means you need to shift around 5200 to stay under it vs making the shift at 5800 with extend. This will open up the end of the peak considerably. It may also allow you to finish the 1/4 in 4th gear which means one less shift to slow you down, or just plain get screwed up |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Thank you Kevin, that's about I've experienced with High output Harleys, ( the torque curve falling off ) One better thing about the freedom engine is the 4V design allows better cylinder fill at the 2500-3500 rpm range and the torque curve is much flatter than a comparable 2V designed V-Twin even when the 2V heads has been reworked for better flow............ |

Posts: 106 L.I., N.Y. | I was thinking of doing the Ness thundersticks Feb. 09, but nix it due to cost, and had to postpone cams due to a car changing lanes into me last fall. Now that I have it back fixed in one piece, I see lloydz has this exhaust upgrade. Any photos or video clips availble jeffmack? Thanks |
