| I (that includes many of you too) am stuck with a power port (powerlet) that needs an adaptor for a different power port (cigarette socket adapter) in order to get another power port to power my devices? That is just ridiculous and stupid. I have spent the better part of a day (in hours) looking for adaptors to power common accessories (not everyone wants or owns Ipods or Iphones), and what did I find - zippo, nada.
In particular I want a simple female USB plug (which covers about 99.9% of the accessories out there), and it just doesn't exist. By the time I get all the adaptors I need I will run out of space in the glove box - what a joke - and it is on us. I'm close to ripping that crap out and replacing them with some good ol cigarette sockets, can anyone save me before I go ballistic?

Posts: 126 Meadow, Texas | Yes, the 2010's do have the regular cigarette lighter plug. One in the front and one in the trunk. And if they have another one hidden away, I haven't found it yet. Plus my dealer told me I could plug in a trickle charger to my one in the trunk and it was just like hooking up to the battery.
Lot easier than trying to hook to the battery.

easy on the homeboy. check out this to see what they carry. You can get the adapters from outlets online or local a quick search can narrow it down for you. Adapt and overcome, no pun intended... |

I agree. There is nothing I would put in the glove box or trunk that uses a Powerlet. I can see a Powerlet being more useful in the center console or below rear speakers for heated clothing. |

Some of us are not 66 years young and still have jobs, kids (at home), and responsibilities. I don't just ride the bike on weekends and vacation, I try to ride it daily to work, and I need to stay in contact with the world. |

I was hoping for a plug and play solution (without a patchwork of adaptors), but the Motorcycle USB Weatherproof Power Socket is looking like my solution. |

Started there in my initial search, and really taken by suprise that they put a lot of effort in offering up adaptors for other plugs.
Considering the quality of the socket, the selection of plugs is lame.
I find it interesting Victory has dumped them in 2010. |

| just one more in the list of b s victory put out initially about the bike. goes right along with it having more storage cpability than the ultra. they conveniently left out the word useable. i'll bet more of us have phones than heated suits. they should send every '08 and '09 owner a kit to make the glove box big enough to hold the adapters along with the letter of apology. and no i didn't bring my phone charger with me to check if it fit in the power plug when i took the test drive. duh yourself |

That is close to what I was looking for, but since is a cigarette converter with a usb converter, it is about twice as long as it should be if it was just a usb converter. When you get those long plugs stacked up they tend to come out when you hit a good bump. |

Posts: 741 Central New York | I got a lighter plug/double USB from radiosahck. I sawed off the plastic part of the lighter adapter and soldered on to wire leads. Plugged 2 3 foot USB to mini USB leads into the adapter and encased the adapter in silicone. I put it under the consul and picked my hot off the heated grip switch. Ran 1 lead up to the dash to power my GPS puck and the other up the right handlebar to power my Blackberry. The Blackberry supplies phone, tunes, radio, and GPS to my helmet via Bluetooth.

I installed this today, and I'm PISSED. It will charge my MP3 player (Sansa e260), it works fine with headphones, but when I plug in the Vision 3mm plug I get nothing but an annoying hum.
The player works fine when running on its own power, but I can't charge it at the same time, and it only happens on the Vision radio. It works fine in my cars, or home stereo (play and charge).
NONE of this makes any sense. If I have a bad ground, I would at least get some signal, but I get nothing. |

| Update...
Anyone find any added powerlet to USB adaptors?
I found a great homemade solution:
http://www.basherdesigns.com/2010/04/07/diy-powerlet-to-usb-adapter...
Don't need it any more, because I happened to find a Sansa docking station that uses a usb plug to charge it. It didn't fit in the glove box without heavy modification, but now I have a low level output to the radio while running the player off the battery.
All is good again... |

| The perfect solutions have finally been made:
A bit on the overly expensive side ($45-$50), but worth it.
both mini and micro usb chargers are available.

http://www.burnsmoto.com/powerlet-mini-usb.php
Micro usb is now the standard for all smart phones, so most of you guys should be covered.
