I was wondering if there would be an interest in a Vision Rally Fall Foliage Rally at Carlisle, PA (near Harrisburg)
RALLY SITE
Hotel has very good food, nice rooms, indoor pool and fair rates at $65 for the area. These rooms go for double this during the Carlisle Auto Shows. Easy to get to ....located near the Jct of PA Pike and Rt 81. Rooms we would book are in a nice adjacent part of the hotel in the back and bikes parked very close. WHAT TO SEE & DO
Nearby wonderful country roads, great scenery, mountains, streams, covered bridges, overlooks and low traffic counts. Gettysburg and other historic areas nearby and many other items of interest.

EATS
Great food at the hotel rally site and other nearby places....plus....for the few of us that might be interested there are muliple great low places to eat.....Pennsylvanias best hotdogs (Gettysburg); great soup/fries/wings and massive sandwiches (Mechanicsburg); the best home made pasta in the area (Hanover and Thrumont); best cheezecake (Gettysburg)....more

I was thinking the rally would start on Thursday and end Sunday morning....but open for input on this an everything else for that matter.

October for sure. Full fall foliage color days are not the same year to year....as most of you know that live in areas that have good color.......but the real important part of this rally would be meeting alot of Vision owners in my view. Let's see if there is an interest and if yes.....we set the dates and give it a go

Nalcrest, FL United States | I might be interested if I can get the time off. October can get a little chilly towards the end of the month.Shouldn't be a problem for riders from the North. I ride all year with the Vision. |

Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | I live in the area my only problem is we work Thur-Sun and after time off for AVR am not going to be able to do any more. There are some great roads and I would be willing to lead some rides on Mon and Tues if you would consider including a Mon-Tues or Wed. I would hate to miss an opportunity to meet everyone.

NW Jersey | Sounds doable and a good idea, but the dates would be critical for me (I have two 2 weddings to attend in October? what happened to June weddings?)......But the chance to link up with fellow Vision Riders sounds great. I saw perhaps 6 or 8 other Visions (most going in opposite direction) during my cross country trip. |

Just my 2 cents, I wouldn't worry about the NC rally. It's far enough away that you could still draw a bunch of Victory riders from the northeast and beyond. Pick a weekend that works for good foliage and run with it.
Reality check Mike: are you prepared to host 50-75 riders at an event like this? Do you have rides planned and ride leaders lined up, etc? You should be able to get some help from other local Victory guys. |
