Posts: 208 Edmonton Alberta, Canada | Hi, I recently broke the lid catch. Not the female latch, but the lid catch (male) on the bottom right hand of the lid. Brloke off clean, and I would have to buy new lid and seal, 160 dollars. Has any one built a replacment? or know of any parts at a resonable price? Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know how you could construct a male adapter on that side and I know for a fact that nothing will adhere to that plastic. I would try and see if you can locate on off a damaged bike. Even if it wasn't the right color you could fix that for cheap. |

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I had the exact same thing happen on mine. I tried to get a warranty claim on it and no go. What I did for a quick fix was to run a piece of velcro along the the lip at the forward portion of the glove box. Then i cut it where the glove box opens and just put another piece over that. Worked so well that my new one is still in the box. Just have not gotten around to changing it out. $115.00, I did not get the gasket, will reuse the old one (razor knife and crazy glue) or buy new gasket mateial from and auto parts store.

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | Thanks. I had JB Weld in my hand and put it back for some kinda epoxy. I'll go back and get it. |

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | OK, this is what I ended up doing. I had a clean break right at the base of the latch. They fit back together perfect. I didn?t want to try JB weld in the joint for fear of changing the angle if the weld prevented the pieces from fitting back together in perfect alignment. I used Permatex super glue to glue it back together. It seamed like a solid joint, but due to the small contact area of the two pieces, I didn't trust it. I than used the JB weld to reinforce around the base and up the latch past the break. I am waiting for it to cure before I try it on the bike. I think if I have to trim the JB weld, it will be minimal. I'll let you know in about 3 more hours.
I looks neater in person. Darn high res cameras.

As my Dad would say "Cut to fit. Paint to match!" |

Those rare earth magnets can be found in many sizes at any craft stores. I did this for an acess door on a quad and it worked great. |
