Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | So I am ordering a trunk for my VVstreet Premium and I saw on Ebay a few listings for an upgrade
rear speaker kit. I understand from my dealer that the rear speakers are pretty much useless
and dont provide any real sound upgrade. I am curious if any of you have upgraded the rear speakers
and have any really noticeable sound quality improvement. You should know that I wont ride with the trunk on for more then 2-3 times per year, so this isnt a required purchase. I will still ride the bike solo, but want the trunk for luggage reasons only. If the rear speaker upgrade wont benefit
the driver sound quality, then i dont really need it since there wont be a passenger.
Any thoughts??
thanks guys |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | Mac, I upgraded my speakers to J&M. The difference I noticed was less distortion (I can almost max it out before there is any distortion vs. the level 15 on stock speakers), but lost a lot fidelity with highs compared to the stock speakers. I am not running an amp, just the based sound system from Vic.
Visioness, not sure what amp VaParadox is running, but some folks here are running the pricey HawgWired system. http://www.hawg-wired.com/ |

For the money, I would stay with the stock speakers. At close to $170-$180 for the 4 J&M speakers, I would not buy them again. I just can't tell hardly any difference over stock. |

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | sorry for delay havnt been on in a couple days i had the Hawg system installed. To be honest im not exactly sure where the amp went,
I havnt torn the fairing/dash area apart since ive owned the bike to check out its location. Havnt had any reason to dismantle it. I can put the new system at volume level 6 and hear just great in 5th and 6th. Im thinking upgrading the rear isnt gonna be worth it. |
