Posts: 639 Tri Cities, WA | Well I finally decide to try this and it worked great. I found some of these grind plates that skate boarders use to shoot sparks out from there boards when riding them. They are made out of some kind of very hard dark flint like material. They came with the grey stick tape already to go, it hold's them on my floor boards nice. I found where i had scraped my floor boards before and mounted them up. When i took my first sharp corner and made contact with these grind plates holy Crap did it shot sparks out from behind my bike for 15 feet or more. All my buddys where like I want those and thought it was funny and cool all at the same time. Most just sat there laughing there ass off. At night is where you really see the sparks come flying out. I know this seems like a real trival thing to a bike and owner but hell if you cant have fun with your victory whats the point of having the bike, right guys. Kinda made me feel like a kid again and gave me that feeling I have missed in along time when you added that new thing to your bicycle or skateboard that was like wow how cool. Remember the first time you added that playing card to your bike spokes and it made your bicycle sound cool. thats the feeling I'm talking about. I will try and shoot some video soon so you all can see what i'm talking about.
Take care and ride safe. |

A modification intentionally designed to throw sparks might be viewed as arson if a fire were to develop.
My recollection is that the state of CA prosecuted a motorist a couple of years ago for starting a wildfire that burned several thousand acres because it was determined to have been caused by his trailer safety chains dragging the ground. They also held him financially responsible for the cost of putting the fire out.
Not trying to ruin your fun, just thinking out loud.
