I just installed my new Winged V from Cycleops and all I can say is WOW! The chrome finish is the best I've ever seen and it had all the parts and instrucions. Since I had the trunk apart I also installed a set of L.E.D.'s to the bottom lip of the lid and wired them into the brakes. I ran the wires inside the lid liner so they are hidden. I also installed the stainless steel flagpole with the "V". What an incredible accessory to the bike. Thanks Cycleops for some great parts.

Hey there Mark, you're very welcome, and thank you not only for your order but also for your glowing commentary here. I'm especially glad you notice the difference in our polishing work and chroming. He's expensive, but now you see why I pay his proces, it's simply the best, not to mention in 3 years now not having a single piece of chrome returned for any reason, which in this industry is practically unheard of where 20% returns are the norm. Enjoy it, and thanks again.

And like Mac said... let's see some pics!!!

Funny you should ask. I'm working on them right now and they shouldn't be much longer before they're ready. Until I finish I can't tell you a price. The chrome Vision trunk racks list for $499 plus $39 for the chrome mount kit, and you guys get 10% off that. The gloss black finish is only $339/$30 list, minus 10%. As the street racks don't need an install kit but they are going to require a little more expense in fabbing the supports so I do know they're going to run slightly more. All I can say is I'm trying different options and material sizes and shapes to give the best support yet also to keep the costs down to a minimum.

The first batches are ready in black with the first of the chrome ones coming next week, but I didn't have time to take pics of the black ones yet but here they are raw before finishing.

So would you sell a combo back rest + winged V luggage rack for a Street Vision? Could be chrome or black (though black would be very cool for me).

You'll have to get the backrest from Victory but our racks are made to fit the OEM backrest perfectly. And if you want it black just send it to me and in a few days it'll be on its way back in black powder coat to match the rack. Like this one I did for a customer with an XC...

Doesn't look too bad all chromed either...

Finally had some customers kind enough to dig their bikes out of the snow and mount their new racks to take pics for me. BTW, I believe both are members here, so thanks guys for taking these for me.

Hope you all like the finished goods.

Thinking of adding a Flame style to the lineup, but would like input from members before I go into the investment. Your thoughts on one like this?

As I was scrolling through this post I was thinking I wish he'd do one with flames. I get to the bottom and there it is!!! I don't get a chrome allowance at this time but I think this would look good on a street. If I can get enough change out of the couch and car, and I could sell my old rack for the street I might have enough to get this. You are going to do it for the street, right Will?

Hey there Allen, glad you like it. As I said in my previous post, I'm THINKING of adding this one and have gone past the CAD design stage, having cut one to size it up. The CAD rendering above is slightly different (more open) as CNC milling requires some different radiuses and this one here is waterjet cut and will be hand worked to radius all the top edges inside and out. I'll need to see a call for them to do a regular CNCd production run and completely add them to the lineup, but for now I will be doing them one by one built to order for Vision and Cross bike trunks or backrests.

Here's a few pics, raw laid over a Retro trunk rack, and then at the beginning to middle stages of the radiusing/rounding all the top edges both inside and on the complete perimeter just like our CNCd racks.

Fresh off the WJ...

And getting 'hand massaged'...

As I stated on the other site, put a "V" in the center of the inner arch. Might be different and artsy.

I don't know Mark, two concerns... first maintaining strength across the largest arc, a load bearing member, where a V dead center would weaken it in the worst possible spot, and two, the size of the space to work in versus machinability. When CNCing we can't go below an 1/8" radius or the machining time and therefore the costs go sky high, and with a .125 radius it wouldn't work for the size of the space. Now for one offs I can do that on the waterjet. Instead of softened edges theough the V inself will be left 'hard edged' at the surface.

Some things are great in theory, or in custom one off situations even, but not always practical for production work as the added costs create marketability and competitive pricing issues.

Dave, it just warms the cockles of my heart to hear you love my rack. Man, that just sounds plain wrong! LOL!

Well, here's another one I consider to be a nice rack on a curvy sex machine... WAIT! Danny, go toss a pillow on the floor below you this time... OK, here is the hot one mounted up and ready for getting things, um, err, laid upon it...

You've just gotta love how the clouds reflect in it, I know I do.

And remember, these can also be had for a backrest rig, not to mention for the Cross Roads and Cross Country trunks and backrests as well. They should be posted on the site tomorrow for anyone looking to order one.
