| Hey all, been awhile as a lot has happened, anyway when I last posted the Vision had rear axle issues. 3 times loose ( once total Failure in New Mexico). Well my dealer and his Rep. had discussions with the powers that be at the Victory Convention in Florida. "Factory Lemon" was the concensus, Victory bought back the Vision at full purchase price including original down payment and my dealer told me "pick out the one you want". First choice was an 2010 Cross Roads, so test ride quickly occured and..............26 miles later I told him "No Thanks"........now hold on....the Cross Roads is as nimble and fun to ride as it is very sexy looking ( I love the tail light and blinker styling). I am 6'6" tall and after you ride a Vision, nothing gives me that much room to stretch out. So I opted for an 09 Vision Street Premium in Midnight Night Cherry .......only thing missing is trunk. Dealer added Arlen Ness wheels and backrest for nuthin' ..........how could I go wrong. I will pass required break in period this long weekend,.....and probably a couple of more smiles beyond that. All I can say is my dealer went way beyond and Victory was there every step. This is what makes brand LOYALTY for me. Oh Yeah.......... the spacing on the axle (left side) needed another 0.108" to make axle completely tighten, the axle taper was too short causing the spacer to be loose, nut bottomed out axle. Oh Yeah ....again, when you pass through Gallup N.M stop by Desert Cycles and say HI they were FANTASTIC people.........sorta makes me wish I had a Yamaha .......NOT. Maxine and the guys will treat you very well and might offer you lunch too. |

| This is a great story and just goes to show that for every bad story you hear there are probably dozen more good ones that don't get told.
I had an issue a couple of months back where I had a failure of my clutch master cylinder (I could not get the clutch to disengage) and was stuck on the side of the road only 3 miles from home. My dealer (Randy's Cycles in Marengo, IL) came out with a truck and trailer and picked up my Vision to take it back to the dealership at no charge! When the problem was diagnosed as definitely being the clutch master cylinder my dealer and Victory again went above and beyond what I would have expected in doing a warranty replacement (I bought the 5 year extended warranty with my Vision in '08) even though I have had both the clutch and front brake master cylinders chromed. The ONLY charge I incurred for the entire event was the cost of chroming the replacement clutch master cylinder.
Oh, and this happened on a Wednesday and I had my Vision back by Friday evening! |
