Can't wait for this to go through, I know it will be a while yet.

I have Sirius subscriptions and radios. . .I would imagine the XM on the Victory will work with my subscriptions. Great news, because I didn't want to have to subscribe to both services.

Not so fast as there is still the FCC hurdle and that's a big one. There's more you need to know. Pending the FCC's decision, the most likely scenario is that exiting XM radios (like the Vision model) will receive a few extra Sirius channels and vice versa. However, to select which channels you will receive, with a menu price list, you will have to get a future radio that combines both channels. I'll have more on this later. This will be a slow transition.

Well yes, that's why I said "I know it will be a while yet."

While both companies are continuing to add subscribers, they are both losing money. We all know that is a situation that can't last forever. So, I suppose the question to the FCC will be one company merged, or wait for one of the companies to fold?

Either way, you are left with one company offering satellite radio.

Part of the original merger agreement, as I understand it, was a guarantee by both companies that existing receivers will be able to receive content from both services after a merger. What structure that takes, ale carte or an amalgamation is yet to be seen.

Executives from the two companies are supposed to discuss merger details tomorrow morning on a conference call. I guess we shall wait and see.
