Iron Butt
Posts: 935 Rockford, IL | If you take a look under the seat where the frame bolts together you remove the bolt that attaches the front frame to the bracket, then you stick a heavy prybar underneath the front frame and you can get about 1.5" of "lift" which then gives you enough clearance to remove the covers. However you will not have quite enough clearance to remove the front cam carrier, you can unbolt it and you will be able to snake the cam out of the carrier and snake the Lloydz cam in. No specialized tools truly needed however you are gonna want a good assortment of allen tools....ok...a very good assortment. And its gonna help to have someone with fairly small hands to get at a couple of the valve cover bolts. Download the cylinder head & valve train part of the service manual and PAY ATTENTION to the details !!!!
