Got back Sunday afternoon from our 10-day, 3,540 miles round trip through some of the most beautiful country I've ever been in. Made me really homesick for the mountains of Montana, but I'm thinking of going there next year. Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Iowa, South Dakota and of course North Dakota were all the states we rode through. ND was boring! LOL Only hit rain on 2 out of the 10 days. Riding through the Tail of the Dragon between NC and TN was breathtaking. We took interstate to GA on the way, and rode 2-lane roads all the way back. Much more enjoyable and I could actually look at the scenery instead of worrying about the traffic. The Vision handled the twisties like a sport-bike, and averaged 42.3 mpg over the entire trip, even with the 20 mph headwinds in North and South Dakota on the return trip. The Lloyds Fuel Controller I added let me tweak the power and mileage as I went and I think I've got it dialed in pretty well. Pulls strong all the way from idle to wide open throttle. Now to change the exhaust gaskets and get rid of the popping. Apparently, Victory bikes aren't seen very much out east. When we were in Deals Gap at the base of the Tail, we were the only Vic in the parking lot among at least 75 other various makes and models, but it was the Tuesday after Labor Day, so not as busy as it was through the weekend. It was great getting attention whenever we stopped. My wife was ready to leave again the next day and do it all again. That says a lot for the comfort factor of the Vision. I couldn't be happier.
