| I took a trip to Colorado last week and figured it would be a good time to try out Amsoil 10w-40 and an extended change on my '10. I went 4100 miles and will change it out today at 9640 miles total. I understood that finding neutral was the issue but I never had any difficulty in finding neutral at all. The only negative I noticed is that the trans certainly gets even noisier and a bit more notchy shifting. It also "chugs" more at lower rpm in any gear besides 5th (direct drive). The annoying trans is the only reason I'm changing it. I think I could have easily gone 5000 and not had any problem with neutral and if I was still on the road I would have.

It actually looks really good. The oil is a bit discolored as expected but doesn't smell burnt and there are no obvious signs of debris. I'll cut the filter apart and take a look at the paper. It was really hot the last 900 miles so I half expected it to be burnt.

| I just took it for a short ride. Its amazing how much better it shifts and how much less noise there is with fresh oil. I've never had a bike that was as sensitive to oil as this one is. Too bad they waited till '11 to fix it.

Most have reported that it isn't anymore quiet on the '11s. |

| I wonder if the '11 doesn't get louder as the oil ages. Mine is pretty reasonable with new oil in it. It would be nice if it could stay that way for the duration of the oil change. Nothing ear plugs doesn't solve in any case

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | I am going to ride an '11 this weekend at a demo truck event. I am going to ask the Vic folks if I should expect my transmission to break at 100K miles. |

| Remember you can always have a sample tested at NAPA. It's a better test than your fingers.
