I here that dunlop made a bunch of tires for harley I believe elite 3's.
They made a rear tire with a front arrow and market as a front tire even toe the rain groves were going the wrong way.
You would think they would have seen that when they mounted the tire.

I don't think it would have made it to us, different size. At least I hope that it wouldn't, thinks for the info just the same.

Different tire altogether, and now the problem is solved supposedly.

2008 VICTORY VISION Recall - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Problem: POLARIS IS RECALLING 2,444 MY 2008 VICTORY VISION MOTORCYCLES. THE TERMINAL NUTS THAT SECURE THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY WIRES COULD BE LOOSE AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER, WHICH CAN CAUSE AN UNEXPECTED LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE MOTORCYCLE. ALSO THE CURRENT FUEL IGNITION MAP PRE-PROGRAMMED INTO THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) CAN CAUSE ENGINE STALLING. Recall Details
First time I seen 2444 2008 Visions mentioned. Least I found something new to me on the recall thread. ET

The 3114 means that your bike was the 3114th Victory motorcycle made in that model year. It has nothing to do with the number of Visions.

thanks VT, I should have known, but for some reason I didn't, I'm wondering what number my Vision is, I think it is late in the year, for some reason I think it was born in October and I took it home in November.

Your pretty close VA with late Oct. You may not have the papers, but normally the Vision has a paper in with the manual when new that has a date, that date, as far as my reseach goes, is the date built. If you saw your bike in the crate, that date is also on the outside of the crate along with the S/N. My SSG is 3994 and it is my belief it was built on Monday, 11/19/2007. And those at work that day, did a very good job. Sorry about jumping the thread subject. As far as the Dunlop tire recall, it does not appear that Harley is putting on the E3 on their bikes. They are installing the D407 and D408 tires on the new HDs. I have used the E3 on the Vision for the time I've had it, and now at 57000 miles on the bike, I find them a very good tire.

Remember that Vision-Riders.com has access to recall notices for all Victorys here:
http://www.Vision-riders.com/tech-corner.asp

You can view recall notices for other Victory models by going to the above page and then choosing the appropriate model site from the drop-down menu on the HOME link at the top of the page.

I wonder how come they never made it a recall about the gear indicator? They offer warranty service for it and there is a TSB about it but no recall. Hmmm!!!!

I think a recall is about safety, gear indicator is not a safety issue since most motorcycles don't even have one.
