| Great photos. I did read if you pull the air filter it gives you more room.
You should post this under the tech section so it doesn't go away.
Good Job.
PS always replace both bulbs ask the auto parts guy for his best ones.

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Thanks John. I just updated the link and tweaked it a little. It is posted in the Vision Tech Reference section which does not allow replies so if anyone has corrections or additional tips, let me know here and I'll update the Tech thread. |

Posts: 179 CARTAGENA Spain | Songfa hols in the picture you posted I see that the completion of the bulbs is not the same as I have, my bike is a victory vision 2008 and the bulbs are carrying a H-11, I guess you have another model bulbs or I have bought are not worth my bike, I have not dismantled the lighthouse to check because I see a lot of work to be worth then not. I can confirm that the H-11 are correct

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | if they still have the assembly out, I would have like to see the HID boot off. I thought regular bulbs were held in by the screw too until I took apart. It appeared some one did not pay attention at the factory and missaligned the wire and the screw was holding down, preventing it from hinging. It works fine now.
So my next question is, if it does require a screwdriver, how do you replace the HID without removing the entire assembly? |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Adolfoch - I just replaced the original headlight bulbs on my '08 Vision (47,000 miles) and they are H4's. I've never heard of H11's in a Vision. Is yours European? What is the non-HID driving light bulb if you don't have HID in there? VaRyder - I'll try to get back over there next week and get a pic of the HID bulb in the housing. That was a warranty headlight assy that was being returned to Polaris (cracks across the top of the clear headlight lens, very obvious) so it might not be there when I go back. |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | Tom, thanks for the photos and the write up. Now I think I might be able to do it is the darn things burn out. Also, your dealer is just the greatest. Next time I'm in Memphis I'll have to stop by and buy something! |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Thanks SF for pointing out LZF photo gallery. It's like discovering that bad thing about your wife that you never knew before because your still reeling from the honeymoon. Man, if my HID ever blows I'll have a true out of body experience trying to replace without pulling the housing. You know they did give you an angled screwdriver in the kit, you reckon that is what this is for?

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I put the Lotzafun link to the HID pic in the Tech write-up. You could get it (the HID) out but lining everything up and not dropping one of those little phillips head screws down the black hole on the reinstall would be impossible. I begged my dealer for the HID bulb in that housing but it has to go back as a set. |

According to the owners manual h-4 is the correct headlight bulb. |

Posts: 741 Central New York | Great pictures, great job! I still am a believer in taking out the assembly to change the bulbs. Even if you can work your hands around enough to change the bulbs without removing the assembly, there is no way to insure the boot is in place properly.
Again, thanks for the great pics. |
