My Harley was a lot faster and more fuel efficient. . .
Now when I ride my Vision to lunch, it takes hours to get there and costs more for gas than the lunch was!

Post your 'BAD VISION' quips here.

I'm sure the old scoot was better, because "better" is a term used to describe how much green I spent on that beauty; $3,500 for paint, close to that much in aftermarket goodies...........
It just had to be better!!

My Vic? Guess I'll have to get by on just the lowers and footpegs.....

Every time my old scoot(s) fell over, it/they ended up being re-painted - so I got frequent color changes. The VV has been the same color for 3 years.

I frequently park in SF, and have had over 1000 tourists take photos of my Vision in the last 2 years. I think their flashes are fading the paint.

I blame my Vision for my anti-social behavior.
With my old bike I had to stop every 60 miles or so just to stretch my legs and rest my a**.
With the Vision I am usually good for at least 250 miles so I am not interacting with people and now anti-social.

My old bike, a Goldwing, was so much better for me. You see, I am not very outgoing - some say I am shy. Nobody bothered me with questions and comments about the bike the way they do now! For example:

WHAT IS IT? THAT IS GORGEOUS! MAY I ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT BIKE? (leaves car running, open door, in the middle of road, to come over to bother me.) WHERE DO YOU GET ONE OF THOSE? WHO MAKES THAT?

and the worst: IS THAT THE NEW HONDA?

I'm so embarrassed.

My old bike was much better because, before I got a Vision, I had a life!

Now, I spend every evening online waiting for the next post on vision-riders.com, and checking ebay for a great deal on Vision accessories (see, I really am becoming quite delusional) as if I'm going to find a great deal on Vision stuff. Maybe in 10 years.

I've been so out of step that I missed every single episode of Dancing with the Stars this season, I haven't kept up with the Kardashians, and have no concept of who's been kicked off which island. My morning newspaper sits on the driveway, waiting forlornly to be read, only to hit the recycle bin acouple of days later, with the rubber band still intact.

I'm just too busy checking the forums to stay current on current events. Did you see the new motivational poster? Where did MY motivation go? I've even taken to reading all those OT political posts on thevog, which are like bad accidents; you don't want to witness the carnage, but have to look anyway.

I thank God that I haven't yet started drooling like Pavlov's Dog every time a new post comes to the top of the Vision-riders.com home page, but that's probably next, along with a prescription for some pharmacological agents that will let me focus on real life again.

This bike is an obsession, it's an addiction and I'm starting to feel like I'm as bad as those skinny obsessed types waiting for hours in the cold for tickets to the new Harry Potter movie.

Help Mr. Wizard!

My old bike was much better because:

I was able to buy all sorts of things for my bike to make it look all special, The Vision comes with everything I needed.

Gas stops used to take only 5 minutes

I was never asked, "where do you put the dilythium crystals?"

- because I could go places incognito. Now, I'd better be where I said I was because everybody knows where I am.

- the only reason I went to my previous forums was to learn about farkels. I never posted once. Saved so much time.

- I had a practical, rational answer for everything I bought for the bike. I never spent a penny on chrome, exhaust or engine performance upgrades on my three previous bikes. My Vision came more decked out and powerful than any of the previous bikes and I've spent more on changes for it than the other three combined. That's just wrong.

- after I bought my previous bikes, I never went back to the dealer. Now, I hang out at my Victory dealer at least once a month, just because.

- there has never been a Motivational Poster starring a Kawasaki Concours or a KLR-650.

The Vision has ruined me. Seriously, I'm not right.

People of the real world, you think you have crap with your Visions? Now let me tell you I own 1 of 3 Visions sold in AFRICA!! I have difficulties just to ride this thing, too scared to fuel her up at petrol stations, keep fuel in my garage!! I DONT remove the bike cover! this allow me to ride for at least 20 minutes before the harrasment starts, (VV too fast! cover keeps comming off!) cell phones shooting from motor cars blinding you! Questions asked "are you sure this is not a car!", "ET has landed!", "this a smaller version of the Enterprise?" Isssssssh should never have bought this bike, should have stuck to my Goldwing!!!!

Greetings from South Africa, Johannesburg

Way cool FREEDOM!
Have you ever met up with either of the other 2?
If all three of you were riding down the street together, the government would probably have to get involved because all work would come to a standstill, crowd control officers would have to be called in. . . Your Visions could be responsible for riots, overthrown goverments, maybe even the end of the world!

All 3 Visions are in South Africa, 1 in Johannesburg (mine.. 2008 Premium Tour with stage 1 conversion) 1 in Cape Town (standard 2008 Vision Tour - Midnight Cherry ... Cape Town +- 2000KM from Joburg) and the last one in the North West Province (Standard 2008 Vision Tour - Midnight Cherry - +- 120km from Joburg.

My self and the guy from the Northwest have had a run, together with 63 Victories (Vegas, Jackpot, Kingpin, 8 Ball) man did the nation traffic control hated us!!!!

Me and the Wife (Kingpin Tour - stage 1 conversion) will be hooking-up with the owner in Cape Town the week before Xmas and will be doing the "7 passes" found in and around Cape Town, will post photos as we go along. Missis and I will be doing the coast of South Africa +- 9,000Km and cutting through our semi-desert area.

Must inform that the biker futurity in South Africa host the biggest Toy Run yearly in the world. November 2010 saw over 40,000 bikes taking to the highways in Johannesburg alone, nationally in total +- 90,000 bike. All bikes will depart from various starting points and then decent to a common collection point. WHAT A SIGHT!!

We have 2 official dealers in South Africa, 1 located in Pretoria (Capital City of SA) and 1 in Cape Town SA (Table Mountain in Cape Town now declared as one of the wonders of the world). The service from the 2 dealers are excellent, but not so good from the importer. After market and OEM stuff we bring in via the Net.
WE NEED STUFF FOR THE VIC's, anybody out there that can help to get stuff a little cheaper? Exchange rate R7.00 to the $, average monthly salary for management positions +_ R25,000.00

In January we will see 2 Cross Country's and 2 Cross Roads on display at the 2 dealers...... CAN'T WAIT.

Greeting from a GREAT COUNTRY - MAN YOU GUYS MUST COME AND RIDE HERE, FANTASTIC ROADS WITH PLENTY CURVES SET IN FANTASTIC SENERY!!!

Good Day to You uknessie!!

Some Statistics:

Best Touring Seller in South Africa - BMW 1200 GS - 7 out of 10 bikes over 1000cc sold.

Super Bikes are big in SA, Honda, Kawa, Suzuki, BMW (RR), Ducati, KTM, Apprila.

Unfortunately Vic's are still pretty unknown in SA, the reason the Missis and I will be doing the coast line in December to promote the brand.

For a long time HD enjoyed the king of touring status seeing that the other brands lack dealerships and not so big on marketing. Goldwing?s had to be individually imported until resent; Honda SA brings in 6 every 2 months as from September 2010. The total Goldwing?s in SA +_ 1000. I would think that HD totals +- 20,000 (all models and plenty late models, choppers and beautiful customs) concentrated in the bigger metropolitan areas, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pretoria.

I must have a continued attitude problem, most look at me when I am fueling and if I don't smile they mind there own business. Not a bad ass, but don't have the time on my rides to answer questions. The biggest blessing is that I continue to ride safe, even though I ride super hard. Any day up right and riding hard is a real day. Looking forward to spring when I can bring "Twister" back to life on the highway's and bi- ways! This site is the best of the rest for info - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Ride hard, ride fast, but above all - ride safe...

I am surprised that the psychiatric/psychological profession hasn't come out against our Vision. Although I don't personally see a shrink, everytime I ride, my mind clears, problems fade, nothing else seems to matter, and all get put into proper perpective. Why would you need any Doctor to talk to? Half hour to an hour's ride, cures all.

I never had to deal with my Harley Buddies asking me to "show them the bike tipped over" when I rode a HD.
This usually happens after one of them forgets his kickstand or tries to turn in the parking lot too sharp and it takes a couple of us to get it back up.

I have to agree. I even found myself describing my vision the other day to a fellow biker (HD) as my "drug of choice". I was telling him that I have never resorted to any type of therapy in my life, but since getting my vision I feel I've become addicted. As I described it as soon as I'm in the saddle every worry, fear and feeling of anxiety just fades away. I don't even feel any guilt! Who in the world should be allowed to sell such a terrible "drug" to the general public without a license?

It can be the most annoying bike in the world to ride! My vision is like fly paper. It seems to draw what appears to be paparazzi like fly paper draws flies. We can just be riding down the interstate and in a few minutes cars start gathering around us, sort of magnetically, video recording and snapping pictures, or just staring, and they just stay there! I love country roads!!

My Vision saves me soooooooooo much. Saves me from doing yard work, saves me from cleaning the pool, saves me from helping with the laundry & housework, saves me from listening to my mo-in-law bitch. When I'm on the Vision, these things are no longer important!

I have to agree... riding the Vision sucks. I mean, every time we go to bike night, or to the live music shows in the downtown metro area, it really aggravates me sometimes. As soon as I pull into the bike parking area and get backed into my parking spot, I am unable to dismount my bike due to all of the gawkers surrounding me. "Please let me get off the bike so I can show you all the cool stuff about my spaceship!" Eegad, people!

My wife has witnessed this strange phenomenon that I deal with, and has since committed herself to helping me out with my dilemma. She bought herself a 2011 pearl white XC, in hopes of reducing the amount of gawkers surrounding me at these public events. Unfortunately, her plan has backfired. Not only is my Arlen Ness Vision surrounded, but so is her Q-Ball Cross Country!

In our area, this dilemma appears to be prone to Victory owners, in specific.

Please help!

I seem to be having a really bad steering problem. It is taking a whole lot more effort than my old bikes did to turn into the parking lot at work in the mornings. Even more so when the sky is clear and the temperature is nice.

My last bike was better because.....

I was learning how to fabricate (fairing, gauges, stereo, lights, etc). My Vision came with all of this so I've lost what little I learned. (I'm ok with that.)

Why did I buy this vision. Had to ride in all day rain and when I found home and pulled in the drive way I was barley off the bike when I found the wash bucket and hose. Don't think I would of sleep if it sat in the garage dirty.

Most of the attention I get is the infamous question....Who makes that spaceship looking thing????Never seen anything like it!!! It is a Harley???? Who the hell is Polaris? They make snowmobiles don't they or something like that??? Takes about 10 minutes longer than before the Vision to fill the tank, but that is okay with me......Ride on!!!

I get a lot of "Is that one of those new Victory's?" I have to tell them it is a 2010 but still looks new. And also get lots of compliments.
Now granted I get most of my comments while I'm waiting for the light to change while the compliment the bike they turn to the wife and point out all the goodies that come with it. Usually I tell them about the heated seats - that is a real seller for the wives.
Then I get a thumbs up and the light changes and I have had a very nice little meeting with a stranger. Hopefully I have turned some of them into Vision riders.
