Anybody that has bough a new 2011 recently can advise on price. My 2008 is more than likely going to be a total loss. I would like to get a 2011. I would like to get an idea on what I can expect to pay. $23,699 is not going to happen. I think if I can't get a 2011 for 22K, including tax and title, I'm going to buy a used one. Just would like to know if this is realistic before I walk in. Thanks

I'm looking to buy in Feb or March a 2011 VV. The dealer I bought my KP from mentioned to me $22,800. I'm also thinking of getting a new 2010. Another dealer in the area has a nice new blue one with ABS. Had it listed at $21,500 I said no way came back at $19,500. Not sure which way I will go.

If you are waiting to buy in Feb or Mar, let folks know here where you live RD so they can keep an eye out for you. You'd be surprise that you might be able to cop a better deal, provided your local dealer won't shun you, but he might even match it if he knows that you will sign.

You can figure that the best deal you are going to find is going to be between $20K and $21K. When I walk into a dealership if take 10% off the top and that's were the haggling begins, not ends. On a $23K+ motorcycle I wouldn't settle for any deal on the bike alone that is over $20K. I kick myself all the time for not following my own major purchase rules, I bought a first year motorcycle, and I paid MSRP at the time. Although I did get a good discount on the accessories I wanted and free installation at the time of purchase, it still never equals out to the savings I should have gotten by haggling more about the price of the bike.

When buying any kind of a major purchase, be it motorcycles, auto, household appliances, remember you have the power, the power to say "No, this deal isn't good enough" and walk away. Remember, you are the customer at that point and getting a good and reasonable price is all part of the process, MAKE them keep you in the dealership.

T-Man, if its any consolation, I paid MSRP with the addition of a CB installation, I have never looked back. I know you haven't either, just want you to know you are not the only one. Personnally, the bike has been worth every penny I paid if not more. I do agree with haggling though, but at the time I didn't want to miss the getting the bike considering the next one wasn't coming for another 6 months.

I had to trade my Harley to get rid of it. 07 had 56,300 miles on it and had no one interested. If you are going to get a Vision go for the 11 the transmission is so much better, but it probably will cost $22,500 to $23,400.

I have found some older models as new left over bikes as some very good deals. I also was going to buy a new 2011 in March but found a new left over 09 at a local dealer. I got the bike for a steal at $18,000. I also held out for the dealer to give me a shit load of chrome at his price rather than MSRP and we split the labor. I decided that the savings I got was so much that I didn't mind getting the older tranny and no ABS. At the time I thought I settled for the black vision but I really have begun to like it more than the color available. That pretty machine with all that shinny chrome really stands out. Also got the first service thrown in as well.

Like every one says be the boss. Keep in mind dealers are hurting like you and I so do your checking around and then start to make a deal. Get the firts 500 mile check up for free and keep in mind any extra parts you want the dealer is going to make a good 30% or more on them. Be firm and you know there I hope is more then one dealer in town. Maybe check ebay or http://www.chopperexchange.com/buyers/search.asp
There out there waiting for your money so be cheap and hold your ground.
Good Luck

This is what I really don't get. Everyone is always talking about the dealers sticking it to you, and you act like the dealers are retiring off of your every purchase. Coming from the dealer side of Victory, I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating it is to have people constantly beat you up on costs of things. Take a simple $100 accessory. In reality, if you pay retail on the part, after shipping that the dealer pays and doesn't charge you for, he may make $20 off of the deal. Same goes for the bikes themselves. They don't have a $10,000 markup like cars do. It is just nerve racking to watch everyone complain about the lack of dealerships that Victory has. But you can't seem to put it together that you guys are the one's that are supposed to support the dealers. When you guys beat the dealers up, or don't buy from them because they are a "STEALERSHIP" that's why they are dropping like Flies out there. Luckily that's not why we closed our doors, because we had loyal customers. When they didn't beat us up, is when we took more and more care of them. Just me venting a little, and hope you guys can learn to work with your dealer that you deal with before they shut their doors for lack of business.

I obught a 2011 Victory Vision in Nov. brought it home on 11/19/10 after my '09 was totaled, the new bike list price was $23,199 stock and I paid $21,250 before option were added. the option list totaled out to be $5849.74 paid $ 4000.00 for the accessories. i did purchase some on ebay since I could get a better price on them as well. I made some changes on what was done in the way of the accessories and the total with everything was $27,000. I have all the Vic accessories except for the reverse kit, Piaa lights, chrome cam chain covers, flag, cup holder, Ness side covers, clutch arm cover,GPS, shock pump, full body cover, that is all if I can remember with help of the accessory catalog.

On your old bike check your old insurance policy for your accessory limit on your current policy (mine was $3500.00 and did not cover what was on my old bike) they paid me right at 22-23 for my old bike. The insurance company cut the bank a seperate check for their part and me one for the rest. They did pay me for my safety apparel (helmet, cloves, coat, leathers and boots) that part came real quick, look for your receipts on that if possible.

I hope this helps you out on your bike and dealing with the insurance company as well. The most important thing is I hope you are doing okay and are not hurt too bad, my pride still hurts alot and it is getting better. Take care and ride safe when you start back, I had to go through the accident site to get my comfort level back. I wish you the best and above all "Lets Ride"!

Be Safe,

I purchased a 2009 VVTP in 2010 for $17,500. Thought that was a pretty smoking deal.

I purchased my 'NEW' 08 VV Premium Street last Aug. iI paid the advertised price of 16779.00 and was happy to do so. I did get to order the trunk at dealer cost of 1100.00. I felt the dealer, in Reno, Nv., dealt fairly with me and made my purchase a painless experince. I do have one question though, I see numerous Vision owners that have purchased 08 and 09 leftover Visions. Why are there that many leftovers since the bikes are so highly rated and praised?? Don't get me wrong, I love mine and is the best bike I've owned, and I've owned 17 bikes in the past 35 yrs., just wondering.

Check CYCLE TRADER online for deals, if you're willing to buy out-of-state. See new 2010 TP for $16,799, and best price on a 2011 is $21K looks like.

Probably the biggest reason there were or are so many left over 08 & 09 Victory Visions is the "Great Recession", people just put off buying motorcycles. Some other reasons maybe total production numbers of VV were too high, first year for bike, color selection, and the Standard Vision models, most folks went with the premium models.

I have an answer to my own question. Shoals Outdoor Sports in East Tuscumbia AL has them listed on their website new for 20,880. I would have went there to get it for that price. St. Pete Powersports was going to match the price. I decided to get another 2008. Details on that later.

All this is very amusing. I have to think of it that way or else I will cry.
I paid $33,000 for my 2008 with all accessories. Plus $1,400 for extended warranty. All this at a time when the Canadian Dollar was near par with U.S.
And I couldn't 'shop around' - nearest dealer was on the other side of the Rockies. "Take it or leave it" - this was long before our recent mini-depression so I took it. Glad I did.... quit whining !

So if you wanted to trade in an 08 tour premium with 10K mikes what kind of a deal do you think you would be able to get for a new 11?

St Pete dealer said NADA clean trade was 11,900. rough trade 10,600. Dealer numbers are low to screw you. At first the insurance company was going to fix mine. Around 10K in damage. I asked the dealer if was was going to be "good as new", and of course the answer was yes. My next question is can I trade it for a 2011 now so I don't have to wait weeks and weeks for it to be repaired. Answer was bike would never be the same (gonna be good as new a moment earlier), he would have to disclose it was in a major accident and I could get about 9500 on a trade. That's when I started to make alot of noise to insurance company about diminshed value. Finally got them to total it for me.
