Posts: 104 Corona, CA | I tried out the CB on my 08 Vision today. I bought the bike a few months ago and the PO said that he never used it and I really don't intend to camp out on it either but I want it to work when I need to use it.
I checked it today with a friend that used the CB on his wing and while we were withing 30' of each other we could receive and transmit without any problem.
I took a ride down the street and called out each street as I got further away. He could hear me very clearly but I could not hear him after 100'.
The reception started out great at 30' but as I got 100' away the reception was started getting static and then dropped off completely.
Any ideas on what is causing this ?
Thanks ! |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | lack of upgrade...maybe. Check with the local dealer to make sure you've got the current model.
didn't find what I was looking for in the search, but the original CBs had issues that was fixed with a replacement. The first could not be upgraded, the newer ones can. The dealer should give you the right information, if they are clue-less, ask them to call Victory to get the straight shot. There was never any recalls and they were only fixed if you complained.

Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | Check the SWR on the Antenna. I bet whatever channel you were on the SWR Setting s were out of whack. I get the best transmit / receive on lower channels and higher channels, but not in the Mid Range. So our group just runs on Channel 3 on the road and everyone is happy.
You can shorten the Antenna tip if needed to get more level settings in the mid range if you want to, but just going with the lower more powerful transmit/receive channels fix it for us.
