Posts: 28 Mesa, AZ United States | I know this is probably addressed somewhere in the forum but I can't find it so I will ask. The stock muffler has a bracket welded to it. The thrush has no such bracket. Do you need to weld a bracket on the thrush or use some kind of a spacer along with the pipe clamps to secure it to the bike? I have not taken the stock pipes off yet but it looks like they attached to the bike in three places with bolts, one of which is the welded bracket spot. The video of the mod was excellent but doesn't address exactly the spots where you would attach the thrush to the bike. Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated. |

What I want to know is what people used to space the chrome shield out so they still lined up? The Thrush muffler is much narrower than the stock muffler. |

Posts: 133 , AR United States | I started to use 3/8" aluminum rod bent into a U, but that turned out to be too much. I wound up using just short hose clamps that would have held the rods in place. I only used 2 of them on the front end of the shield as the rest looked ok without anything. The short clamps are 90 deg to the long ones that hold the shield on through the same mounts. |
