Posts: 46 Maryland | This will be be my 6 bike. I currently own a Ducati 1098 and suzuki m109. I need a bike for long distance riding. I love the look and feel of the Vision 8-ball. However after reading your threads I have a concern about the water in the headlight has Victory fix this issue. The other issue is the heat from the exhuast after long rides. Can this be fix with a wrap or shield. Thanks for your input. |

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | The headlamp problem was corrected in early 2010 with a redesigned headlamp. As for heat, I find the Vision to be no hotter than the Harleys I've owned. My left ankle will get hot if I am wearing sneakers, easy fix - move my foot up the floorboards or wear the right footwear. If heat is an issue, this forum has lots of fixes - from CAT louvers, Diverters, Lower deflectors or even shaving off some of the inner fairing. With such big floorboards though, it is easy enough to get away from any heat you may feel. Riding in 103F heat, I haven't had an issue yet. Maybe when it hits 113F this summer, I will put in some louvers. |

Posts: 309 Vineland, NJ United States | I have one of the early 2008 Victory Visions with 12,000 miles on it. I've been caught in vicious thunderstorms and downpours, I hope I don't jinx myself, but I've never gotten water in my headlight? |

Lower deflector shields installed when I bought it and heat has not been a problem for me.

Posts: 935 Rockford, IL | The headlamp issue has been fixed by Victory. However there have been a few folks who have had some problems in dealing with getting their headlamps replaced under the extended warranty. While most have had either zero or minimal problems with getting the headlamp replaced I think there are a couple who haven't. It appears that the problem might be in how the repair ticket is written and submitted.
You are going to have heat issues with almost any bike. A lot of folks here swear by the accessory wind deflectors and other "mods". But there are also a lot of folks who haven't had any problems with the heat. Mostly just a matter of personal preference and comfort. |

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | I have an early 2008 and haven't had the water in the headlight issue yet. I don't find the heat off the exhaust to be an issue at all until the temps get into the 90's, and the lower wind deflectors take care of it then. I've ridden across Kansas in 103 degree heat, and while the heat was uncomfortable generally, the exhaust heat wasn't the issue. It could be an issue if you ride in tennis shoes and shorts, but with long pants and boots it isn't. The lower wind deflectors are also very useful in cold weather, when turned OUT to block air. The lower wind deflectors work very well, in both directions. Turned IN, you get air flow below seat height comparable to an unfaired bike. Turned OUT, you get little air on your legs at all.

Posts: 185 Rhode Island | Had the 2010 since middle of August and put about 5k miles on it caught in rain twice and washed 3-4 times and no water in the light. I put the lowers on and they make a big difference both in hot and cold weather. If you get the 2011 consider adding the rear tip limiters, I haven't used them yet and hope I never do but like having them there just in case.
Ride safe,
Jim |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Agree with many here, the issues you list are minor. Problems always get more press than features that perform flawlessly. The heat off the engine is only an issue for some in warmer weather and is no more than many other full fairing bikes. Take the plunge, you'll be glad you did! |

The lowers help allot with the heat. They also help in the rain. If you are getting a bike for long distance ridding the Vision is the way to go! |

Lots of them all over the country, but no Vision specific gathering yet, that I am aware of. There has been talk of starting something like that. This forum is sort of an outgrowth from the Victory Motorcycle Club (VMC), which caters to all things Victory. Your can find regional groups of Victory riders about anywhere in the country, and the VMC sponsors at least three big gatherings every year. One is known as the V2V, which crosses the entire country by following the old Victory Highway. Another is the American Victory Rally (AVR), which is held every year in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where your bike is built. A third is a national meet, which is hosted by a different chapter around the country every year. This year, it's in Arizona. Additionally, there are lots of regional gatherings. http://www.thevmc.com/start.html Go to the Forums link, then the Events link.
What part of the country are you in?
