Posts: 639 Tri Cities, WA | I bought this set of rims off E-bay about year or so ago for my vision and the guy said they were powder coated already and when I got them they werent they were painted. So I had to take the rims down and have them powder coated Black here locally. I then took them down to have them pin striped by a local pin strip artist. I think he did a good job. Now i just need to have some new rubber put on them in the next few months and get these bad boys installed. love the way they look. The pin strip guy did exactly what I wanted done to them.

| If you left the bearing in when the wheel was PC I would replace them. I believe they back the paint on at 250 degrees and you sure don't want to pull a month from now to replace.
You bike will look I'm sure |

They bake at 400 f, so yes the bearings need to be removed prior to baking or they will quickly fail. |

Posts: 639 Tri Cities, WA | Thanks guys.
I did remove the bearings and races before having them powder coated black. I also had the bearings hand repacked and new races installed. My cost was about $75.00 a rim for the powder coating total with tax $160+ and i paid $80 for the pin stripping. I'm thinking about powder coating my other rims that i have on my bike now black, then sell them when I take them off this spring and replace them with my new rims. I really dont know if powdercoating is better than anodizing Nozzledog, Sorry. I cant wait to have them installed. I only need to burn about another 3K miles to replace my tire I have now. |
