Posts: 373 Lansing, MI | Hello all, I'm a long time Victory rider and fan. I spend a lot of time over at The VMC. I've had two Vegas models and after riding some friends Visions, selling my Vegas to buy a tractor and looking around for another Vic I couldn't stop thinking about how bad ass the Visions are. So, I found a GREAT deal on an '08 Street Premium with cams, intake plate, VFC, exhuast, Cee Baily shield, blacked out goodies, fairly new tires and some other do-dads. Thought I would join up over here because, well, it makes sense.
Now I just need a luggage rack, maybe a trunk and some lower deflectors.
Can't wait to put some miles on her!
Question: I have a Sansa mp3 player, it plugs into the Ipod cord and I know it can't be controlled through the bike but I pluged it in, switched the mod to AUX and nothing. I thought it would at least play. Any ideas?
Thanks, Matt

I know my new Droid phone doesn't seat all the way in, the plastic surrounding the input is to large keeps it from plugging all the way in. So, now, my player will crackle and other funky stuff. The droid recognizes when you pull the jack out and pauses the music. So, I guess I have to find a razor blade to trim the plastic. |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | The plug is a standard jack, it has worked with many different Mp3 players that I own. I have never tried a Sansa though. Good luck, I love my tunes, which is why I bought a Vision and not a bar hopper or loud pipes. Wish I could upgrade the stereo though. |

I think that's where I'm going wrong. I'm trying to plug my player into the big wide white plug thingy that's in the little cubby hole on the left side of the dash. I know it's the wire for an I Pod but I thought it would work. So, do I need a different wire to make it work?

Great looking bike I wish I would have gotten a black one.
Say if you don't mind go into your profile and add what city and state your in and what model bike you have. It will only help all of us when you post something latter.
Enjoy your new ride |

I thought about that but everyone knows me by cook06vegas. If I do it sure won't be anything with a model of bike in it, LOL!

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Welcome to the club! I guess your Vision is improving ;P. The ipod cable prob won't work with anything but an ipod. You should have gotten a loose 3.5mm jack mp3 cable with the bike as well. Being used it may have been lost. If you pop the rubber grommet out holding the ipod cable in the cubby, you will find it connects to two plugs. The mp3 only uses one of them, the other will be unconnected. This picture shows the ipod cable disconnected and the mp3 cable connected.

Posts: 373 Lansing, MI | While we're at it, I just looked at the bike. I only see one wire, the wire that's hooked to the I Pod connector. See it on the left? Could the other wire be under the "dash" or something?
Also, I heard there is some type of newer I Pod cable that charges the I Pod. Will it work on an '08 and how do I know what one is one the bike now? This one has the letters RNYLE on it...
And yeah, I like Will's stuff but it may come down to $$$.

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | I just checked the wiring diagram, 2008 & 2009 did only have one plug. You will have to find a mp3 cable for that model year. If you can't, the blue wire is for the left speaker, the orange for the right and the green is ground.

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Before you tear everything apart, the radio has two AUX settings. One is for the AUX cable that goes to the glovebox and the other is for a GPS unit. Push the MODE button on the dash until you get to the AUX SETTINGS menu and make sure it says AUX, not NAV MP3. |

Posts: 373 Lansing, MI | Yup, it says AUX. I think the problem is that the Sansa I'n trying to use isn't working with the I pod cable. Big surprise, huh?
