Bay of Gigs, WA | How about this? I just re-found out how to start a new thread...
Does anybody have an idea how to mount a couple helmet locks to the Street? I have a Premium with a rack, but I don't like the divots a helmet leaves when I set it on the seat when I go in for a cold one, and the wife's is sitting on the rack, and especially if we or I go into a store, leaving a full face outside or bulkily packing it around with me (us). I don't see one in the catalog, and other makes I've seen, or aftermarket ones don't fit the bill, and leaving 4-500 bucks times two in the parking lot just ain't right. Maybe outside a bar, where people know, but not at a restaurant, etc., where crooks are more likely to hang out.

Central New York | For me the simplest way was to put an oversize rivet in the chin strap. Let's face it, if they want it bad enough no lock will secure it.

That is a neat idea. I wonder if I could put a hook in the trunk for the ring to snap into and then shut the lid on the strap. An a-hole can still cut the strap but can not unhook it from the hook inside the trunk. Two helmets could drape over the back seat and not take any truck space! They would not be upside down and rest on the back seat and not any paint!

Bay of Gigs, WA | On my old Yamahammer Venture there were two squared off U-shaped clips that opened with a key and hung the helmets down each side by the back wheel in such a way that a passing shower wouldn't fill them up. I found a couple at the "Bent Bike" over here, but they didn't seem easily adaptable to any surface on the Vic. That said, I'm beginning to suspect I may need to get out the ol' MIG and fab up something for a couple of those. Perhaps a plate that can bolt through a couple holes on the underside of the rack support with some inner tube rubber to prevent corrosion. I'll just add that to my list of things to get right on...unless I run across something else that fits the bill more closely, that is. |

Sturbridge, Ma | I just bought kewl metals locks because I think they would work great when traveling long distances. In most part I would put them in trunk, but when you travel and trunk is full I hang them on handlebar locked because I wouldn't care if they took them? But I do care about my J&M headsets which are worth a pretty penny for two of them...just my thought! |

one cuff through the D rings and the other around the luggage rack or the handlebars. |

Vernon, WASH. | Rather than buy a bunch of stuff to cobble together, pick up a cheap suitcase sized padlock ( inch and a half X inch and a half, probably $1.00 @ the local hardware store) and keep it in the sidebag. pull in, open the side, drop in your gloves and snap the padlock through the strap ring and close/lock the side bag with the padlock inside. |

Kansas | Purchase a long thin bicycle lock, run it through the ?D? ring, then through the passenger grab handles. Put my helmet on my backrest and leave the wife?s on her seat. The cable is usually cased in plastic of vinyl and will not scratch anything. Cheap and rolls up into small package when not in use. |

Never occurred to me off the top of my head to just buy a lock or two and just lock up my hat. Duh. Thanks for shakin' my myopic brain into a cheap and easy solution! It would be nice to have an integrated lock that worked with the ignition key for convenience, though. Wait a minute-is a new industry about to be born? |

This stud works great for me...helmet is upright so rain can't get in...use of small pad lock only at time of long walk a way from bike.
D ring on the stud and the tip of the handle bars is inside of the helmet.
These quality crafted chrome helmet pins provide the fastest, easiest way to hang a helmet. Just slide the D ring over the pin. It's more convenient than resting a helmet on the seat, and there's no risk of the helmet falling off and becoming damaged. Optional small brass locks help prevent helmet theft. Available with 10mm thread to screw into right side mirror stud and models with left mirror stud, or sized to replace clutch or brake lever pins. |

Parkersburg WV | Hi, I use a product called the "Helmet Guardian". Its a product made in Tennesee. It attaches to the license plate bracket. Perry Hall, MD | When the trunk is full I use a KURYAKYN UNIVERSAL HELMET LOCK attached to the bars. Had to pick up some longer bolts to permit it to fit the Vision bar. Also wrapped the bar with a thin rubber strap to protect the finish. With this the lid sits on the dash between the bars so if it happens to rain it doesn't turn into a fishbowl. I used the style that lets the helmet hang and got tired of having it fill with water. Have to admit that the rivet or padlock and saddlebag idea is very appealing.

Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | I have been looking for a Victory Vision helmet lock ever since I got the bike. Though I have not found a helmet lock for the Victory Vision specifically, I did come across a generic one at the IMS in Chicago that works for me and the Vision. It's called Helmetlok. It is a carabiner with a combination lock built in. The carabiner allows me to lock my helmet in a number of different ways and locations. I like locking it on the seat the best. This way keeps the rain out even in downpours. Not quite as quick and easy as I would like, but not really cumbersome either. At least I don't have to carry another key.
The carabiner combined with the coiled cable allows locking of many different articles like jackets, bags, lunch box, etc.
They are $6.80 at the time of this posting including the cable:

Gotha, FL | Try this one..it's free. Go to one of your local neighborhood police departments that supports this project and get a gun lock for pistols. The cable goes through the helmet D ring and it secures easily around the passenger grab bar. Takes up minimal room and they also work great for securing your saddlemen touring bag to the grab bars as well. Nothing has gotten up and walked away from my V so far. BTW...as a secondary function they also work well for securing your guns at home safely. |

| Okay after feeling like a dummy for buying just a cable and still wanting to buy the lock but not want to pay shipping again I found this instead much cheaper. Caribiner Style Combination Lock by Gear-Lok. Found them on ebay and Amazon.com for under $5, web links below. P.S. these are not rubber coated.
