| Would this be silly.
The next time you do a oil change with the bike on the kick stand and you pour in 3 an a 1/2 quarts notch the dip stick. Now add your final quart and notch the dip stick again.
Now you would never have to stand the bike up right to check your oil.
I'm in minnesota so I have two months before I can try this idea.

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | I think the main reason they have you check the oil when it's upright is because it won't matter where you check it, it will always be upright. When you check on a kickstand, the slope of the floor may vary, causing a different reading. If you always check it in the same spot of your garage, then marking the dipstick will work. |
