| Yuasa has to be the biggest battery suppler in the motorcycle world. I road harley for years and thats the battery you can find in maybe 80% of them. There battery's last for three years and there done. I think with the victory being up front staying cooler you get more life out of them if you care for them. I kinda find it strange your battery need to go. My 08 starts like a charm and is working great but then I keep the trickle charger on it all winter if it matters. I'll bet if you go to fleet farm or a auto supply store or where ever you wind up with a battery that will give you a good 3 years or more. If you do a web search you'll find there is only 3 manufactures of battery's in the USA. |

I hope to get a full 5 years out of it....maybe more! But maybe I have a special one.....also we only ride barely 6 months per year! lol |

I've also had good luck with Westco batteries over the years. They used to be American made, but the last one I received was made in China. http://www.westcobattery.com/ It's in my Vision and has been doing great for 2 years now, but given the fact that Westco took their manufacturing overseas, I'll probably get a Yuasa the next time I need a battery. As far as I know, they're still made in the USA, at least some of them are.
What a mess. To get the American made Yuasa you have to buy one from a Japanese company, and the one from the American company is now made in China.
The OEM battery is 310 CCA. Many of the cheaper alternatives are only 250 to 270 CCA.
I can get this Odyssey battery locally for about $120. I may just try it next time. It's 545 CCA. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc545.htm I hear really good things about them (like 7 years in a bike and still going strong), and they're made in Warrensburg, Missouri, USA. I may have to find out for myself if they're that good.

Posts: 189 Baltimore, Md | The odyssey looks interesting, but it says it replaces a Yuasa YB16L and is appropriate for "all" Vics. The Yuasa site shows a different battery series for Vics - the YTX20HL. Not sure how they compare but I am interested in a new battery for my '08 which seems to be slowly losing its ability to hold charge. FWIW, the odyssey also comes in a 545MJ version which is metal jacketed to prevent the plastic case swelling when near heat. Might be a good choice to be placed near that heat producing motor on the Vision.<br />

| RE: Odyssey battery
I installed one in my 08 vision last summer and have not had any problems with it. regarding the fit you will have to make a spacer to put in the battery holder so that the battery cables will reach the terminals of the battery because this battery is not as tall as the original. Hopefully in about a week I will be able to pull the
Vision out of the back of the garage to see how it cranks after sitting all winter with a tender attatched.
